I would be shocked if Holl is the guy they dump.
- mjones242

Holl is an RHD who is still a decent penalty killer who gets rolled out and dressed every game.

Kerfoot is making $3.5m and is playing 10 minutes on the 4th line. They are doing okay when he's out that (not so much yesterday), but Lafferty can replace him for a third of the cost. Lafferty is Chicago's most highly utilized forward on the PK. If he wins ONE battle, just ONE board battle, he's already better than Kerfoot. Kerfoot is largely removed from centre duties, but he has still taken over 100 draws and has a 43% winning percentage. Lafferty is at 52.4% in over 400 draws.

Engvall, however, has been benched for notable portions of games of late and is definitely either the guy Keefe thinks can be more or the guy Keefe is just plain sick of. If it's the former, Kerfoot goes. If it's the latter, Engvall does.

Murray had an high ankle sprain. Can't be good for a goalie
- Aaron_85

Any leg/ankle injury is bad for a goalie... Kucherov was fully recovered from his injury and was still on LTIR

Anybody else find it kind of funny that the bit players are going for almost as much as top named guys this year?

I'd rather recoup some picks then bring on Schenn.

I tend to agree, I like Holl in the 6-7 spot, not a top 4 spot.

Lafferty replaces whatever it is that Kerfoot brings.

You mean like Tanner Jeannot getting a better return than Timo Meier?

After the Leafs acquired another D-man, I am more convinced than ever that we're trading for Chychrun.

Just because I'm bored:

Chicago is in Anaheim right now.

I guess the boys will be boarding the next plane and meet the team in Edmonton?

Or fly to Toronto today, and with the team tomorrow to Alberta?

Why are we giving away good players for just a 3rd?

Ugh so dubas was foolish enough to move out that first.
But
It wasnt for a rental....he's not that foolish.
And it was for 50% retained...not too shabby.
Lets hope they can resign ROR and Acciari this off season cause they wont be able to make big trades for a while without using roster players or high end prospects.

I was going to say they meet today in Toronto but the Leafs are out west. Are they still in Seattle or have gone to Edmonton for Wednesday games.

Sorry if anyone replied to me and I missed it, half a dozen neurologists came to “chat” lol

They’re lowering my meds more… and they might end up turning me into a cyborg if it plays out the way they’re kind of expecting lol

Not to mention my full name is Robert Bruce Locke, if this happens I’ll be dressing as Robocop for Halloween for the rest of my life but calling myself Robolocke

From the Athletic's assessment of the trade:

"McCabe, obviously, is the more relevant return. Kyle Dubas and Co. taking him on a 50-percent rate — he’ll count $2 million through 2024-25 — without giving up a roster piece is a major coup. He’s a cheap, defensively capable guy who’s a natural left shot but can play on his off-side in a pinch, and he almost certainly won’t be forced into minutes as brutal as the ones he’d played in Chicago … during which, it should be said, he acquitted himself quite well. Chicago outscored opponents with him on the ice. Have you watched the Blackhawks? Do you realize how difficult that must’ve been for him?"

Needless to say, I've got a warm feeling in my groinal region.

Nah, I like guys who are defensively capable first on the bottom pairing, especially against a team like TB who would eat Timmins alive

i really dont give a poop about a 25th pick in 2024.

we could waste another 2 seasons going half in and flailing around. and losing any window to win
