Why are we giving away good players for just a 3rd?
- Santo_44

Why would Vancouver give up a pick for two UFA’s as well? Lol

I think it’s pretty damn obvious at this point Dubas has no desire to move guys from the starting lineup tbh.

Kerfoot to Van for 2nd

Send Sandin to Seattle for our 2nd back

- Roadrunner75

Sandin is a 22yo controllable asset still developing. that would be dumb

Kerfoot for Schenn. 👀
- joel878

Ugh that would be a horrible trade, the leafs lose that one big time.
Specially with the prices we are seeing.

Any leg/ankle injury is bad for a goalie... Kucherov was fully recovered from his injury and was still on LTIR
- PatC80

He’s either ready or very close to being able to return

Rielly- Brodie
McCabe - Liljegren
Sandin - Gio

Timmins as the 7th defenseman

Holl and Kerfoot to Vancouver for a 3rd rd pick

- PatC80

I think, considering what other players of similar levels have gone for, the Leafs could get better than a 3rd.

Unless contracts out and CAP space is the most important thing.

I tend to agree, I like Holl in the 6-7 spot, not a top 4 spot.

Lafferty replaces whatever it is that Kerfoot brings.

- PatC80

Does he?
Ive watched three Chicago games this year, didnt notice him much.

Again its only 3 games but what makes you think he could be as versatile as Kerfoot?
I saw move out the giraffe.

Ugh so dubas was foolish enough to move out that first.
But
It wasnt for a rental....he's not that foolish.
And it was for 50% retained...not too shabby.
Lets hope they can resign ROR and Acciari this off season cause they wont be able to make big trades for a while without using roster players or high end prospects.

At least its top 10 protected

Sorry if anyone replied to me and I missed it, half a dozen neurologists came to “chat” lol

They’re lowering my meds more… and they might end up turning me into a cyborg if it plays out the way they’re kind of expecting lol

Not to mention my full name is Robert Bruce Locke, if this happens I’ll be dressing as Robocop for Halloween for the rest of my life but calling myself Robolocke

- Dozzer

Robert Bruce "Robo" Locke, does got a good ring to it.

Where in the lineup does Lafferty play? 3rd, 4th?

I believe one of the conditions in this deal was also you guys handing TB a first round exit this season. Please.

We're kinda screwed though aren't we? When Murray comes back we HAVE to move out salary, other teams know that.

So maybe Murray comes back once the playoffs start.
No need to trade anyone out.

Please notice that you don’t have to misspell piss to make it work.

Why that is? No idea.

But just wanted to make sure you knew the ease for spelling piss.

Sorry if you were simply trying to be fancy, if so feel free to tell me to piss off.

Unless, Murray doesnt come back until the playoffs?
Maybe they send someone down if he does come back just before the playoffs?

Leafs have too many players though, thats the thing

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
JT-O'Reilly-Nylander
Jarnkrok-Kampf-Engvall
ZAR-Acciari-Lafferty/Kerfoot

Reilly-Brodie
Gio-Lilly
Sandin-McCabe
Holl-Timmons

McCabe can play the right side BTW.

Pretty interesting that at +7, McCabe is the only player on the Hawks roster who has played over 5 games to have a positive plus minus. Either he is having a really really good year or has ESP and jumps off the ice just before the other team scores.....

We have excess forwards now. Figure out who’s expendable and expend them. Having Murray as ready as possible for the start of the playoffs is a bigger priority than keeping Engvall.

From the Athletic's assessment of the trade:

"McCabe, obviously, is the more relevant return. Kyle Dubas and Co. taking him on a 50-percent rate — he’ll count $2 million through 2024-25 — without giving up a roster piece is a major coup. He’s a cheap, defensively capable guy who’s a natural left shot but can play on his off-side in a pinch, and he almost certainly won’t be forced into minutes as brutal as the ones he’d played in Chicago … during which, it should be said, he acquitted himself quite well. Chicago outscored opponents with him on the ice. Have you watched the Blackhawks? Do you realize how difficult that must’ve been for him?"

Needless to say, I've got a warm feeling in my groinal region.

It’s so (frank)ed up im damn near ready to just have my name legally changed to that

Problem is I’m named that way and have been called by the middle name since birth, named after my dad who goes by Bruce as well… it’s a family thing… I don’t get it but it’s a pain in the ass lol

My medical ID always is (frank)ed… currently it’s Bruce Robert Locke… that’s who they gave a lobectomy to, yet he technically doesn’t exist lol

If Lafferty is an upgrade on Engvall, put him on the 3rd. That’s the line that worries me. Kerfoot is really useful on the 4th.
