I like Engvall but, uh...ok then - eichiefs9
Wasn’t exactly the semi big move I was referring to yesterday. |

I can't imagine what it'd even be like to read about a league star saying, "Look, I'll accept a trade, but only if it's to the New York Islanders." - UIF
Well I mean you have Josh Bailey who only wants to be an Islander
Maybe we got Engvall cheap so Toronto had cap space? Twitter has him as a guy that can play all 3 positions at forward and he's a fast solid forechecker |

A third round pick next year. I'm not sure I understand what our intention is with him.... I guess it's a bottom six depth move. He's big and fast but not physical. Can play any forward position. Not bad for a 3rd rounder
*Edit. He's a UFA at the end of the year. So a rental to replace either Clutter or Pageau? |

Good move . Not a superstar but his style of play fits in well with the Islanders. Mostly on 3rd line on a loaded Leafs team . I can def see him putting up 20-25 goals playing top 6 mins. He is also good on the PK .
Hopefully Lou moves Bailey at deadline or off season and sign Engvall around 2.5 a year, only 26 years old . We don't have the cap space to sign any big name players anyway. Sorokin got to get paid after next year.

hopefully he’s not a Brian Boyle type. That dude was pretty soft for his size. |

He sounds like a decent player that can help. |

Well there this
This is a tremendous acquisition. Dubas, to me, feels very desperate. Engvall helps a lot this year and if he resigns (anticipated on my end) he will be incredibly useful.
26 years old, 6'5" hard hitting forechecker, that defends well and kills penalties. Good skater

Some of these teams, I.e., leafs, rags and bruins are really bolstering up. I’m all for making the playoffs l, but really feeling like this is a good year to make some tweaks and get some picks to maybe use toward trades for better players at the draft. |

Meanwhile, the Preds acquired Austin Rueschhoff from the Rangers. Barry must be hard at work already. |

Anyone with speed helps us at this point unless it's grabner who if he had hands would have scored 90 goals a year |

The #isles acquisition of Pierre Engvall is very on brand. A bottom six forward who is great in his own end, transitions the puck well, and a great forechecker. An added bonus for his for plus speed.
He won’t score a ton, but he’ll slot in nicely in their bottom-6 and it feels like he could stick around after this season |

Played bottom 6 in Toronto which is loaded with talent in the forward position. I like adding the depth especially with our current injuries. As you mentioned plays the PK which is good. Might also make our PP2 unit as well.
Let’s see what he can do and if he clicks Lou can probs sign him to a team friendly deal. |

Lamoriello: “Pageau is day to day. He has not practiced yet but has started skating. Barzal is week to week.”
Good to see JGP us skating. Put Engvall w JGP to bring up the average height on that line!! |

Yeah, I heard he was allergic to contact. Maybe he can get a bit more angry if we stuck him with 12chainz |
