Nashville is doing a quick pivot and a nice job at rebuilding/restocking. Too bad they don’t have a McD-type in their front office to stand in the way and insist on flogging the dead horse of staying competitive. |

Retire and become co-owner of Onnit. |

So far all the big TDL action is in the East. I predict the West will break loose tonight and tomorrow. Domi pack you bags. Hopefully AA too. And it would take a miracle, but let's hope, Murphy (even if we need to add a little sweetener). - -Doh-
Yep that EDM trade should start the west arms race. Surprised LA, COL, WPG and Vegas haven't done anything yet. |

Did you forget the Johnson trade?

Ha ha, Rota. It feels like an eternity though. This long process is going to be a bummer and it doesn't even guarantee a winner. I looked at how long it took the Avs to win it all after the drafting of Landeskog/McKinnon and it was like 10 years...
I finally stopped being a lurker in 2017 and was living in the odd towers in the middle of downtown Wheaton, Wheaton Center, as it allowed easy access to the Metra. We moved and actually live in Winfield not very far from DuPage County complex near County Farm as a marker. But for all intents and purposes, it's Wheaton as the fence 15 feet away is Wheaton and the kids go to Wheaton schools and we are part of the Wheaton Park District I believe. - Popsghostly
Ok. I'm over on the SE side closer to COD. Maybe we can catch one of those Steel games that Mr. Rico is always talking about.

Sad day, makes me realize how truly spoiled we were as fans. Going to be a looooong rebuild. Not too happy on the return, but I'm biased. |

You know its not really the fact Kane is moving that bugs me so much its where the fuk did 14 years go? It feels like yesterday Toews was drafted and then we won the lottery and had the first pick. Who knew it would end this way? |
|

He is? So far all he has shown is he can build a terrible team. Trading a guy far below his value is not doing a great job. As of right now, we have no idea if he is even any good at drafting. 2 of his 3 first round choices last year were reaches.
The Yotes got almost as good of return for being a broker. - Elbows15
The Yotes are simply the farm club and escrow house for the NHL. |

Retire. He is tired.
Of paying the damn escrow and with some local broadcasting outlets going belly up, the cap will not be rising anytime soon is my guess. |

A GM could do wonders when there is no NTC NMC involved . With that said KD didn't owe Kane any favors. Since the 10.5M contract was signed Hawks have appeared in 20 playoff games, 9 in the bubble. Granted not all Kane's fault. Kane was paid a fortune, but at the 11th hour he wants out from under the team and KD placates him for a very meager return.

Maybe more. I looked up tickets for their upcoming home game against the Oilers, and tickets start at $150 for singles. Yes, there are only 5000 seats, but I didn't expect that, either. I think there will be a real uptick for them once they get their own arena in that part of the Valley. Setting up in Glendale was a fatal mistake. |

No doubt you're right. But I had a relative 15 minutes from that Glendale rink. Hawks games or spring training, good times.

Was hoping for a return like the Giroux return as he was said to only accept to one team. Oh well. |

I really think that if Kane had it all his way - he wouldn’t be leaving. He has three championships and other hardware during his career. Now, in his mid-30s, he has a child and a partner - there’s not much incentive for him to pick up and live out of a suitcase for the next three months.
Some folks may disagree - but I believe Kane did the Hawks a favor and agreed to waive his NMC when he didn’t really want to. I wish him nothing but the best - and I’m so incredibly appreciative of his time as a Blackhawk. There will NEVER be another era like what we had the pleasure to enjoy. |

Definitely a Carolina move. - BetweenTheDots
They are a fancy stat/analytics driven organIzation. Very very good teams that draft and develop really well, just haven't gotten over the top. |
