Toronto gets Gus and a 1st from Washington for Sandin. Will they flip that 1st for somebody else? |

Wouldn't surprise me. Do the leafs have the cap space? Sounds like Edmonton is on him as well

So is this the beginning of the new Kane NMC rule. Only pick one team and get traded for a bag of pucks? Rental prices will come down a poopload now because of it IMO. - SaskHawkFan
It is a luxury market. Check out Lightning GM Brisbois presser after the Jeanot trade. He could not be more honest...it is not complicated.
The value is derived from how bad someone wants a player and how many others are bidding for the same player.
There is no intrinsic value to a player based upon anything he has done in the past.
Right now, if you are a playoff team or close. And you have a hole, you spend money to fill it....within reason of course.

Its sad to see Kaner go. It was a nice run. Hopefully they could sign him for next year, unlike others here i wouldn't mind seeing him back. |

He ain't coming back. I bet Davidson is glad this is over with. Now he really gets a fresh start. Anyway, why would Kane come back to a team that arguably will probably be worse than last year?
IMO he goes to Buffalo. They can pay him whatever they want, are young and up and coming, and he can play with Tage Thompson. |

TOR with 3.3M in cap space now. Domi 1/2 retained and either C. Jones, Tinnordi, or the new guy for the 1st (Boston's). Hawks have to take back 2 more plugs to make the contracts work.
Maybe Hawks send back a mid round pick. Toronto gets depth D and F.

Welcome back Magic Gus!
Gus is only 800k, probably wouldn't work |

Leafs now with 6M in cap space. They traded Engvall to the Isles for a 3rd round pick. Hawks could include Stalock in the Domi-Tinnordi deal.

No one wants Tinordi. He decreases any value in a trade. |

I for one hope the Rangers make the conference finals so it turns into a 1st - Hawkeynation
Which in essence is the same value as a second. KD thinks it makes it a better deal.
Fire KD RFN.
How bad are you at your job if you get the same return for Lafferty as you do for Kane? |

Will Reichel be recalled now? Who will be traded next? If Domi can get a first I’d say deal him, otherwise re-sign him. Ideally KD could get both, but it’s a risk and doesn’t happen too often.
I wonder how Kyle will use all this draft capital at this year’s draft? Will he use a combination of 2023 2nds/1st and 2nds in 2024/2025 to get a third 1st rounder in 2023?

He has already decimated the Hogs enough. Leave Reichel there to play in some meaningful games. |

This is what a real rebuild looks like. Get what you can and leave the rest. I can see many here can't handle it.

He is? So far all he has shown is he can build a terrible team. Trading a guy far below his value is not doing a great job. As of right now, we have no idea if he is even any good at drafting. 2 of his 3 first round choices last year were reaches.
The Yotes got almost as good of return for being a broker. |
