Imagine if UPL had some help last night. Guy was the only reason it wasn't 50-1 - DirtyDan
It's just tough when your best game nets you an .875% and 5 goals against. How many times have we seen him give us a great 30 minutes? He is wildy inconsistent. He needs another year in the AHL. |

Sure the Forwards can help more, the Sabres get eaten alive below the Dot and behind there net. Sure it would help having your forwards crash down a bit. But your D can't be getting caught on the same side or both chasing behind the net. - Buff36
You're always going to be at a disadvantage below the dot when zone entries are ridiculously easy because the opposition gets free reign through center ice due to your forwards being nowhere to be found.

Dìckey, if I was running the team since offseason, Husso would have been our goalie all season. And, since we'd be just about to pass Tampa for 3rd place in the division, I would have added Meier by trading one of my bazillion prospects and/or picks. He would be taking the ice in Sabre gear for practice today, and the Lightning would be pissing their collective pants. Wayne Simmonds would have been claimed off waivers and would be packing foil right now, though I'm sure I would have addressed toughness in the offseason. Maybe I would have ripped some players until I found their backbones, or I would have brought backbone in. Either way, there would be injured Tampa Bay Lightning players from the game two weeks past, and it's doubful Dahlin would be hurt now. - lacaprup

Meh. I look at it as battling through it. Since Anderson can't play more than once a week, he's still their best option, even though it's not saying much.

He needs a team that actually comes to play front of him. Hes a fckin rookie with 39 fvckin games.
How many times do we just leave guys unmanned out front?
Oh great Stillman hit someone? oh wait but he left his man wide open out front and now theres a goal. Great pick up.
Donnie has been great for the offense of this team but the guy hasnt shown he knows a single thing about defense and clearly neither does Matt Ellis or any these other bums on the bench with him.

Overall, I'm fine with it. On most nights, it's entertaining to watch, and has made a net positive impact on the win column. At the same time, though, you can only blame defense and goaltending so much if your forwards are essentially just going to stand and watch until the next offensive opportunity comes around.

You can't win every game 6-5. You must hold teams to 2 goals or less most games.... This team is 5 years away from seriously competing IF they decide to incorporate some defense into their philosophy |

Another interesting deadline today. Sabres made Krebs eligible for the AHL playoffs last year. Did the same with Thompson in 2019. |

There's also the fact the NHL refs have decided to put the whistles away for minor obstruction calls. It doesn't favor a team like ours. |

There's some real, ugly truth to this statement. This team, this year when the chips are on the line...not great, bob. |

Sure but that goes with standing up at the line to. Sabres have some forwards that are afraid of the boards or contact. It's a whole team thing |

I always thought of Howard as the straight man who takes a long, long time to explode if/when he does. A really likable, nice guy. WGR is way less without him.
Sal should have taken the morning show.
Other than the fact they have no local competition that isn't a news talk show, I don't think they would survive. Joe and Jeremy are two very unlikable personalities. Tough to put them together. Sal and Jeremy or Sal and Joe would do better. However, like I said, no terrestrial competition. They'll be around for 20 years. - lacaprup
This ^^^^^
Jeremy isn't likeable or reasonable. No one can communicate with him. And his sports opinions are just flat out wrong. 10 years ago I lived and died by the morning show. Now I don't make it 60 seconds until Jeremy says something stupid.
Sal probably just didn't want to work with him.
