I'm confused what the big moves are going to be this offseason.

Do they really want to trade any of their forwards under contract beyond this season?

Seems like they want to bring back all three of Zemgus, Kyle and Jost.

Are they going to move Olofsson for a quality defenseman and look to bring in another high impact forward?

Do they seem like they're going to be spending on any quality defensemen UFA's?

It really seems like another offseason of making little loves around the periphery.

UPL for Gibson and 1 mil retained

I imagine with a great deal of laughter. If building the right way is drafting all F's, calling on all the available D, then learning D are more expensive to land.

Tough lessons as a new GM. Let too many of our D go for nothing or close to nothing.

In KA's defense, no defenseman he drafted would be playing on this team. Power was his pick, he's on the team, but from a quick glance I don't think many others are. Yes, it's an organizational weakness but that starts from before Adams.

Think we've always spoken about the idea that this team was designed to bring back next year, but then there's a ton of work following that. UFA's, RFA's, a ton of prospects.

If they don't get ahead of any of that and try to improve over the summer, it would be a huge disappointment, but it's a real possibility.

Defense prospects are big trade currency. Not having any is a glaring organizational issue.
