I was never big on Chychrun. They've been in on him for years, so I'm surprised they didn't get it done at that price. Stillman feels like a very weak move, so that isn't helping things.

I'm not losing my mind right now, but it's time to step on the gas this summer.

You think we missed on Timo? Guy got traded for jits. Chychrun keeps an orthopedic surgeon on retainer, i get the trepidation there. Should have been zero hesitation on Timo. If him making 8 million per is going to break the room, your room ain't as together as you pretend it is. And, this is a consistent position for me, I also would have liked Cat in the offseason. I daresay he would have 40 goals on Cozens' line.

I just personally didnt like the chickenrun injury history.

I like temo and he would have been a serious upgrade to olo or whomever.

Management isnt gonna bring in an outsider and pay them 8.5-9 million to play wing.

6'4" 215lbs, doesnt seem like an Adams guy to me. Tuch is from Syracuse, that was what Adams targeted there.

Same with GMTM, it's easy to disassemble a roster and get a good return. Building it is the hard part. The world is not ending, but teams around you are getting better and the Sabres are not. Will the 2023 1st round pick be a big piece and help in the near future? We'll see.

I look at things quite differently, and I'm not a believer in schedules in terms of a team's progress or improvement, as there's far too many factors to plan on a set schedule of improvement from year to year.

Just look at this season as an example.

Much of the NHL in terms of your team's best chances of winning is determined by how much production a team can extract from their team cap hit. Especially how much production they are getting from their top players compared to the cost of their cap hit.

- Dahlin $6M cap, $10M production
- Tage $1.4M cap, $11M+ production
- Tuch $4.75M cap, $9M production
- They're also getting a career year out of Skinner, and quality production from Power while on his ELC

That's a pretty damn strong set of plus production.

All waiting does is waste that plus production this season, and beyond this season, you're hoping all the players above reach the same level of production going forward collectively.

The biggest factor to me is Tuch. He's only got 3 more seasons on his current high value deal, and do you really want to extend him to a lengthy deal when he's 30?

Tuch's production combined with the deals Tage and Cozens signed are why I'd be going for it now.

Especially with how deep the draft is this year in the 1st and 2nd round.

The Sabres could have a miraculous run to the Eastern Conference Finals and still get a high end prospect with their first round pick.
