detroit giving up and selling is a little strange
maybe puts it in to perspective a bit, and i think its a point schopp made that is hard to swallow
the drought means nothing to the team, only to the fans. making the playoffs this year isn't really the goal. is draft picks for chikorin really worth losing to boston in the first round, or is it better off saving assets for the offseason for a RD and a better fit instead?
i'm in bargaining stage of grief btw - robz228
Of course it means nothing to the players.
It should mean something to the owner and GM. They should read the room.
It’s just all around dumb not to improve when you can.

Bergeron probably retiring
Pasta has openly said he won't resign there while sweeney is still GM
Marchand... well he'll be there for a minute. - JCSabs06
I'm not going to say they're going to look like the Blackhawks in a couple years. They have a prime, strong defense. Goaltending will probably hold up because of the D. But the offense has real potential to lose most of its gas in the next 2-3 years, and unless they pull a Chicago and get delusional about their window, they'll have nothing to replace these stars with.

don't get me wrong, if they just simply use all three 2nd round picks this year and dont trade for an upgrade on defense and/or goalie the it is an abysmal failure
but if they do make those moves in the offseason, then the plan might be fine, we are just too desperate to see a playoff series to see it - robz228
Everyone has a plan. Ours is no more special than any other teams.
We need to stop pretending like we’re the only one with a special master plan |

My problem isn't that they didn't land Chychrun. There are players of his caliber available every year in some way, shape or form. My problem is that Adams has not shown a single indicator that he has the intestinal fortitude to make a move like that. He's been given an extension for doing nothing other than letting things play out. Why should he change?
All the "vibes" this season is the off-ice equivalent of admiring your pass. Eventually, it gets you in trouble. |

he's done everything he said he was going to do since he got started here.
that also includes speaking about 'going for it' when the team is ready to do so.
considering he's kept his word so far, annoyingly enough, i believe he will do so when the time comes.
again, something zero people want to hear.

Not to mention Carolina, New Jersey, Toronto -and potentially Ottawa will be moving in to those spots that Tampa and Boston occupy.
