Chicago intentionally tanks like real bad. Have a culture that protected a rapist. Then they are gonna get nothing for Teows (sick/injured) and now this return for Kane. I have no sympathy for this team. And hopefully they drop as far as they can with some karma of the lottery and get denied Bedard. - mikeyo27
Let’s not forget they jumped us in lottery to get Kane when we had the best odds in 2007. |

according to you Seeler was blocking york to start the season was he not?
So now why the change of heart? Why now is he a keeper at 30 years old entering next season? Yeah he is def one you keep to help the rebuild.
omg - hello it's me 2050
Remember. There was a reason uncle Nate needed to be signed day one of free agency. Valuable pieces man. Priceless.

Kane's gonna be on the roster right in time to face the Flyers. Fun! - Tomahawk
I’m fully invested in getting the best lottery pick, so this is no big deal to me. |

flyers are the same team with or without seeler. give me the lottery ticket.
Actually hope they keep him then extend him for 2 more years at whatever raise they give him. He is a Torts type player. Can see him wearing an A at some point. - hello it's me 2050
Now you're just being ridiculous. All I'm saying is a bird in hand is better than 2 in a bush for taking back late round pics. Seeler is an NHL player at low cost that plays above his pay. Any late round pick is likely to never see NHL ice. |

He is already in the area, searching for that 2010 SC winning puck. 🤣 |

seeing how the flyers operate not ridiculous at all.
What bird in hand? He is a soon to be 30 year old #6 dman who plays 14 minutes a night. So hard to find a replacement for that next season. Cant have Attard, Zamula, or whoever fill that role. Nope. Need the Seeler.

I'm not necessarily talking about Seeler, per se, but he's a good example of what I mean. The fact of the matter is that draft picks from 25 to 30 have less than 2.4% chance of ever playing 100 games in the NHL. Later rounds are far, far lower. I think that in the current Flyer's situation people tend to value late round draft picks far too highly. In that light, Seeler at $775k is an absolute steal. Are there other "Seelers" out there? Sure. But, at his salary for his contribution, I'd be weary of trading 1 bird in hand for 2 in the bush in his case.
Just a thought. I could be wrong. - Letterkenney
I think your basic premise is correct but the odds of later 1st round picks playing 100 games in much higher than that. If I read your post correctly. |

The last data I heard was posted by Seravalli. I may have interpreted it wrong, but I don't think so. He clearly stated that the odds after pick 24 in the first round of playing 100 games in the NHL was 2.4%. I can't recall specifically, but I do know that the odds of later round picks goes down more and more from there each round. This is why I caution against valuing late round picks. Flyers would have to have 50 late round picks each year to ever hope of getting 1 every 2 years that actually becomes an NHL regular. Can it happen? Of course. Just that the odds of it happening are extremely low. That said, I'd say anyone offering a pick 24 or higher, for whatever player, should be seriously considered. Outside of that, they're likely no better off then than they are now. |

Attard will be 24 by the start of next season. Zamula has put in his time in the AHL. Time to see what he has to offer as he will be 23. Ginning played pro in Sweden for several years. Has a year of NA hockey under his belt. He is 23 years old.
This team is going nowhere next season. Wouldn't the smart play be to evaluate those 3 to see where they may fit going forward?

I think that's the idea. They literally only have one NHL dman (Carlson) under contract moving forward, so now they're up to two lol |

recent years just for the flyers have a couple late rpicks. lindblom, cates, elliot is coming.
but if you don't have the picks the possibility is never there, right. Seeler is a 6-8th d man. they are available every summer in UFA. if other trades happen can get another plug.
attard, zamula, ginning or another cheap vet on a one year deal would easily fill the void on a team that will not be competing for the cup next year.

I swear Dubas plays Leafs fans like a reality tv show....just a bunch of confusing moves and they jump around all excited like they just snorted a bunch of sugar cubes.
Erik Gustafsson suddenly become awesome, Kerfoot is going to bring in a haul...now the Golden boy Luke comes back. |

At least they picked a viable direction. I have no sympathy for the flyers. Who deserve the 9th pick in this draft |

I certainly understand your point. I don't think that Seeler's presence stops that. Would I rather see the young guys coming up? Sure. I just think that for the money, he's a good 6/7 type of guy that's worth more than a 5th rounder. Outside of the trade deadline, they'll probably get more than that during the next season or even off season. Time will tell. |
