I’m not an eagles fan but I am a flyers fan. I’m beyond pissed at this management. We get to watch the rangers and devils both be in the same situation as us a few years ago. We are still in the hopeless situation while the other 2 are ready to be contenders. Brutal

Still have three days to pick up the scraps.

regarding JVR, I would rather they not take a contract back. I would rather have that full 7 million cap space if that is the deal on the table.

Of course that all depends on who is GM, because we all know Mr. Bias For Action spends cap money like a sailor in a Philippine whorehouse.

Well Fletcher did say today he is in full re-build mode and it sounds like he wants to continue to get younger, so that would indicate he is not taking contracts back. Its amazing all the deals that got done today and yesterday, and yet not one Flyers' player moved, that should speak volumes!

It speaks to how low quality the product is we have. Fletch is like the dude selling dirt weed on the corner next to the brand new dispensary but asking the same price.

younger doesnt equate to getting better.

Speaks volumes because he doesn't want to move any of them.

Yes it was a great game. One Qb playing on 1 leg won the game. Eagles had a good team this year. Should have taken advantage of the opportunity.

Its the right thing to say! No GM, not even one as stupid as Fletcher, would tell the rest of the NHL that they can have any player for basically nothing. Fletcher has to say that he expects some value back. And besides, Hayes is still a good middle 6 forward that can play special teams, center or wing up and down the lineup. Especially if the Flyers are covering $2-$3M in salary for the next 3 years, any team that wants him is going to have to give up something, at least a few picks like a 2nd and a 4th or a good young prospect.

That's not true. Fletcher said today he is open to any deals including any of his veteran players. The only players he said he is not interested in trading are his young players like Tippet, TK, York, Farabee and Frost. Fletcher also said today he is willing to cover salary on the deals. What else do you want?

If there is a real market for Hayes it will be in the off season. Not at the deadline. He is correct to wait if any offers he had required retaining salary or taking a contract back that he really doesn't want. The idea is to make good deals not just deals. Although he has never adopted that practice in the past.

Of course you would but nobody is going to offer that. Luke Schenn, who is a better player just went for a 3rd.
- MJL

also a free agent this summer. if he is that much better than seeler....he doesn't cost much more. prime example

Maybe, we’ll see. Seeler has another year at an affordable 775,000; that adds value as he isn’t too old.

No, it really doesn't add value. It subtracts value at the deadline. He is a depth defenseman. At best a #6. Teams aren't looking to take on future years for that kind of player.

I would agree if his cap hit was double what it is. But his cap hit makes that factor negligible at best.

Exactly, for most it is at least a slight savings on what they would have to pay a 6D.

no it doesn't. he can easily be buried in the minors with no cap implications if need be. teams always need depth on d. Future years, you act like it is multiple at decent money.

Was gonna suggest a deal centered around Provy going to the Oilers for their 1st. Would probably have needed other pieces involved, but oh well. Another ship that has sailed
