As of right now, Patrick Kane is an Arizona Coyote.

Takes two to make a trade. I don't see JVR as player other teams are in a rush to acquire. Not with all the players available that were likely to be traded. JVR is more of a consolation prize.
- MJL

I bet they could have moved him for some depth picks earlier. I know trades are hard but guys like Schenn and pierre engvall are being moved. There's been other middling guys like Tyler Motte too.

Man I kind of feel he is a bit overrated but whatever. Deal is done. He's a rotating guy, like a 7th dman.
- Aaron_85

Schenn is a solid 3rd pair defenseman. He's played pretty well this year by all reports.

People should really give up on the idea that Fletcher is going to get fired any time soon.

The press conference probably exhausted Cuckles to the point that he’s gonna need a personal day tomorrow.

But don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll move Braun for future considerations and swap JVR straight up for Greenway by Friday.

The non rebuild must continue forever.

If he was scoring more consistently JVR would be more desirable. He is not a necessity for any contender and it should not surprise anyone if Fletcher holds onto him rather than accept a fourth or fifth round pick.

He is a UFA on a team further from the playoffs then washington or Nashville (both are sellers). Anything is good return for him. Letting him walk away for no asset is not.

He said as much at the presser today. Whether it was a cover his ass moment, he said he wasn't going to move a guy if he didn't get value, but that's value in his eyes.

Optimist view- Flyers only play 3 tesms below them in the standings the rest of the season. None until 3/28. Sitting 8th overall, but I would suggest more likely to continue to slide downward. Any shot of any meaningful change only happens if the regulation losses continue to accumulate.

Good question! He must've gotten banged up pretty good in that fight...or perhaps they are keeping him out/healthy for a trade!

With Fletcher saying today that they are sellers I’m just assuming nothing will happen this week. For other GMs, the Flyers being sellers is like driving by a garage sale that’s only selling VCRs, CRT TVs, fax machines, and broken plastic lawn furniture. They might slow down for a second and glance over, but once they see what they’re selling they just keep on driving.

Always liked Schenn! Yea most people will hate on him bc JVR had a few good seasons for the Leafs. Whoopee, JVR put up some points...I don't follow the Leafs but it's not like JVR helped take the Leafs to the next level.

We got Johansson and Nyquist so JVR ain’t happening. Greenway just scored his 1st point in 22 games. He’s on a roll. Chuck can’t have him.

I think the Flyers have hit a new low. They ae a bottom 5 team and cannot facilitate trades because they have no cap space nor can they trade anyone because no one wants what they have....Flyers right now are looking up at whale poop

yes it is true. he doesnt want to move guys with value like tk laughton ahart and ivan

Of course not, why would we or any GM? What does it matter if you get Bedard and then play him with Zac McEwen? You need some core of team to build around, don't you? Also, though Fletcher stated he didn't want to trade these players, he would trwde them if he was blown away by an offer, which is exactly as it should be.

Arizona is a joke. Playing in a 5,000 seat college arena, a perennial doormat, tank every year whether they try to or not, but Count Chocula insists on keeping that team in the desert.

Thinking about this more, does it really matter if the Flyers trade JVR, Brown and Braun at this deadline? Its not like the Flyers are really going to get much back in return and at the end of the year all 3 players are gone and the Flyers get about $9M in cap space. The player the Flyers need to move this deadline is Hayes if the market is truly heating up for him as it has been reported. That can be a big win for the Flyers to get out from under his contract for the next 3 years and should open up about another $4M in cap space. That $13M in cap space overall, which is not bad. Bellows will also be off the books which is another $1.2M, so when you think about it the Flyers would be accumulating cap space even with Ellis on LTIR. And like I posted earlier, Fletcher does not need to spend 1 dime in FA this off-season because he has young players that can come in and take these roster spots. It will be another season of evaluation but a step in the right direction given the cap space situation and the Flyers will have another top 10 pick to add to their system.

Think some more - JVR and Braun are UFAs. If you don't trade them now as Willy Wonka said "You get nothing!". Of course as Fletcher has done in the past - there are fewer chairs left and the music is going to stop. Meaning most teams interested have already given up their 1st, 2nd, and maybe 3rd picks already. But if CF keeps waiting long enough he could to get a 4th or 5th in 2026.
