I'd tell that primadonna to go get (frank)ed ... "either you go where we trade you or you stay put. You're an EMPLOYEE, act like one."

Enough pampering of those overpaid a$$holes.

If you have an asset you are not going to keep, you take whatever you can get for it.

*shrug*

You can easily blame GMs for handing out NTCs like it was candy on Halloween. The player was given a tool as part of their contract and they chose to use it.

- Mashadar

As far as I know, no NTC can be restricted to one team only ... he's tying his GM's hand, the guy (GM) has an whole organization to think of and not only this selfish asswipe.

He can pout all he wants, the Hawks are paying his salary ... if he doesn't like it he can go home and forego his salary.

I think he wants to play, however if they are trying to trade him to play elsewhere he decided that the where is his decision

a full NTC basically means the player decides where he goes

By default, that can be done.

Player just says he will not accept a trade to any other team.

The GM gave him that power. Players can chose to use it as they want... either to get to a specific team or chose not to accept any trades.

Teams put themselves in that position.

they were not gonna re-sign Orlov, might as well trade him, the return was more than good.
STL did the same thing a few years ago trading Shatternkirk. if I remember well that didn't prevent them from making the playoffs.

I wasn't aware of that ... then teams are morons for agreeing to NTC's, they're basically undermining their own position when the time comes for a trade.

Live and learn.
