For those of us who don't read the Edmonton stories closely, what do you mean that he didn't fit into the Oilers' dressing room?

Dish!

Thanks

More importantly Carolina is now one player, Laine, away from recreating one of the most dominant WJC lines in history.

Puljujarvi fits with the Canes. Underproductive offensively, but will play well in a structured defensive system.

So who do you think the oilers are in on?
Ekholm or chickenrun?
Who fits better? I think ekholm would be a good physical defensively sound add.
But chickenrun could rack up the points.

I say Holland chickens out and end up with Gavrikov or Edmundson.

I liked Poolparty, as weird of a kid as he was, but that $3 mil salary is horrible for what he contributes, and I just didn't eye-test the defensive player you say he was. Liked that he was getting more physical, aggressive on the fore-check, and went to the front of the net; but he has no finish. And he was the only player on the team in negative double digits for +/- (which I get everyone hates, but still shouldn't be ignored).

Not saying I am on team Yamamoto either, he is wicked overpaid as well.

I just like that he'll be on the 4th line in Carolina and around a bunch of Finns playing a style that emphasizes the things he's good at.

Plus, like, our 4C is Paul Stastny so there's that.

Good for Pulju and Carolina, he gets to play with a bunch of talented Finns, including his old linemate Sebastian Aho.

(frank)in rights! (frank)in wussy gets his agent to go to the media whenever he’s feeling sad and demands top 6 minutes even though he can’t score on a line with McDavid. (frank) him. Good riddance.

Guys like Gavrikov or Edmundson don't move the needle as they aren't really much of an upgrade on the current roster. If you can't add an impact d-man then I'd add another scoring forward. A guy like Domi, Bertuzzi, maybe you look at Josh Anderson with some salary retained.

I’d be looking at a package deal with Arizona for Chychrun, Ritchie, and Bjugstad. And also Schenn from Vancouver.

I think their PP will suffer a bit without Barrie on the point. Don't think Bouchard is ready to run it yet, maybe Nurse gets a shot and Ekholm can take some of his PK time.

The good thing is, the PP isn't where this team needed help.

Ekholm is exactly what the Oil needed and wanted. An excellent defender with a great first pass. Plus he's still under control for 3 more years.

Holy crap what a lot to give up for a second pairing D...and yeah Ekholm's got term but 6.25/yr isn't cheap. Quite the overpay IMO.

Yeah, but if the PP is the only reason you are winning games 5-4, and it falls off......

Looking forward to watching an actual defender out there though.
