Kind of relative, when you are moving a 4.5/yr third pairing defender in the deal though. And the Preds ate that whopping quarter mil, lol. I'm just glad it wasn't Holland with the retention.

It's basically only a 20+ first round draft pick if you actually think about it. You are upgrading defensemen, a prospect that really wasn't anything of note and a 4th rounder. I think people are way overvaluing a player picked 32 and a pick thats probably only going to be about 10 spots lower than that.

Disagree. Great add Oil, Ekholm instantly becomes the #1 D the Oil have been looking for. Plus bonus, he pushes Ceci off the first pairing, a Nurse/Ekholm pairing is a good start to fixing the D.
