After watching them last night, they just don’t have the goaltending. 6’4 Holl getting beat up by RNH no less was an embarrassment.
I don’t even think the Leafs beat the Rangers who now have a similar model to the Bolts - kindlyrick
ROR will help them but it’s all going to come down to goaltending imo. Been saying that since they got Murray which I thought was stupid but who knows. Maybe one of them gets hot but I certainly wouldn’t bet on it. Hopefully they get their doors blown off in the first round (frank) that team and it’s fans.

Phuck the leafs
Sadly, I just don’t see the isles competing with the top dogs in the east. I’m a fan of Horvat and the trade I just feel like they need to shed some dead weight. Too much inconsistency. I read someone say “Bailey has a million for every goal”. Hah

It would be great if they lost in the first round again. I remember a few years ago the leafs fans here were already planning the cup parade before the playoffs even started.

Every year they plan the parade. Doing it again this year which of course makes it even more hysterical when they don’t advance.

When they brought a certain #91 in? Everyone was anointing them champs.

I don’t see the islanders competing with the bruins or canes but who knows. I don’t even think we’ll make the playoffs even with all the help we’ve been getting.

Anything can happen in the playoffs I agree, but the isles problems in the regular season aren’t going to go away. Top teams have lethal PP’s, Norris dmen and Vezina goalies. The isles have a mediocre front and backend with a great goalie.

I don't remember, but they were literally discussing the order the players should lift the cup. Then they got bounced and any non-leaf fan who posted over there got banned.

Still one of my favorite moments was after his first game back at the Coliseum and he's getting interview after getting roasted all night and you hear some Isles fan scream down the tunnel "John you suck!"

(frank) that guy. I never had an issue with him wanting to go where he wanted. The way he did it when it was pretty obvious he knew what he was doing for a long time is where I had a problem with it. That first game back for him is in my top ten moments being a fan of this team along with the penguins massacre.

I was there a couple of hours before puck drop with a buddy. The atmosphere was unreal. He deserved everything we threw at him. He knew what he was going to do the whole time leading up to free agency and probably for a long while before. F him.

Yep. I pretty much pissed myself that entire game. Hysterical.

I'll never forget that night. One of the craziest atmospheres I've ever seen and I've been to pretty much every big Isles home game in the last 20 years

Total pu$$y move and not captainesque. Prob why the leafs have brought in former captains at the deadline 3 years in a row.

Yup. He knew he was screwing the Isles, but didn't care. Total dick move.

I don't even know if he was actually sure by the trade deadline, or even right up until July 1st. I buy that part. I was never even mad that he left, in and of itself, and totally understood the reasons why he did. All that stuff was fine in my book.
What was horsepoop was the "please don't trade me" act. Had that not happened, they moved him for a haul, and the outcome was still the same...I don't think I would have had a particularly large amount of animosity toward him. And (frank) Garth Snow for acquiescing to his selfish request.

I don't buy it. His wife wanted to move back to Toronto. I agree, I don't particularly care that he's gone. Like pretty much everyone has said it's the way he did it. Frankly, had he signed with the Isles we would probably be hating his contract right about now.

This was 100% what I had issue with. When he said he didn’t want his new team to have to give up assets to get him my head just about exploded. Wouldn’t piss on him if he were on fire.
