Interesting. When my employer asks me to do something I'm simply going to say I don't want to. How do you think it would pan out? - PLindbergh31
I am going to disagree with you there. We (collectively) are criticizing coaches and GMs for not putting players into the best position to succeed. Putting Ivan on the right will be exactly that. I am actually happy that both coaches and the player in agreement on playing position. |

Hypothetically- he agrees, and he sucks in the new position. I can see your future comment: What a d!@k.

Hayes won't be traded without eating a significant portion of his cap hit. Is it worth it? - PLindbergh31
Absolutely it is. Eating $2.6M per season should be enough to get the deal done, and the cap will go up at least that much so it will be a wash. |

I hope Pens get Chychrun, as long as they completely overpay for him. |

This is quite possibly the worst Flyers lineup in club history. - BiggE
Not even close to the worst lineup in club history. Try this one on for size:
Gagne-Umberger-Knuble
Calder-Potulny-Afanasenkov
Eager-Mike York-Kapanen
Fedoruk- Boyd Kane- Meloche
Hatcher-Zhitnik
Pitkänen-Picard
Randy Jones -Printz
Niittmäki

Love Ben Eager. Had he focused more on being a hockey player then a cement head he could have been much better. He had skills.

Only player I saw gripe about his ice time when his team was one win away from the Calder Cup. After Game 3 of the 2005 CCF, someone asked Eager, "Was tonight a good example of why John Stevens preaches to trust the process?" (or words to that effect).
Replay, "I don't know. I barely played tonight. Asked someone who played." |

Adam Kimelman can confirm. He was there, too. Eager sat in the third period when Stevens shortened the bench and was apparently sour about it.
Garth just did something recently with the Islanders Alumni. |

Bill,
Have you noticed that any time when Frost's name gets brought up in pressers, including this afternoon, Torts speaks about him in a way that casts doubt on his future with the organization?
Tippett, York, Cates... none of them are spoken about in that way, even when they're struggling. Frost was one of the team's most effective players in Dec and Jan but you rarely heard any praise from Torts.
Do you feel like it's Torts just not liking the player fundamentally or do you think it's just a continuing head game that he's playing with Frost for the sake of motivation? Or something else? What do you think the deal is? |

So if Hayes only plays 12 minutes versus 18, that's going to make a difference? - MJL
The plan is to only have him play the good, effective minutes, while cutting the bad, value-lowering minutes. |
