The Blackhawks’ scouts have some serious work to do. The problem is most of the 11 guys drafted, assuming all the picks are used, won’t be in the NHL for 3 to 5 years. It’s going to be a long grind, hopefully Blackhawk fans understand that they’ll need all the patience they have.

Patience. But yes, of course

So I just tuned in the game barely a couple minutes old. Next, went to internet to see the lineup. Not yet showing lineup

Patience, eh?! Next my patience was to check on Kane and NYR. Kane playing too minutes yet not involved in scoring (yet) as NYR are leading, 3-2, vs the Nashville Preds

Oh I bet that Vopats guy is as frustrated as Blackhawk fans with our team. They are rebuilding too

Now done typing so might I check first on whether Kane has scored or on Blackhawk game tonight

Patience

One day at a time. I like their brand of hockey way better than when JC was here. Just watching them they are going to have trouble scoring, even playing right now they're holding their own against the Stars.

Really? Dallas is on pace for 60 SOG.

How do you think you’ll endure watching a potentially a long time of bad hockey? Think you have the patience to be optimistic?
- paulr

Don't think it will be as bad as it is right now. They need to get to floor which is going to require some signings.

Luke can coach, after next year, don't think the push will be to be the worst team and get the #1 pick.

Mitchell not in the lineup

Huh? His future here?

But C Jones of course is in. And England dude is in. Maybe Mitchell is: scratched, was sent to Rockford, has a minor injury, held out as he may be traded. Take a guess

Based on what I know, demolition experts in any field are rarely around long to oversee and conduct re-construction work. Clearly KD and Hockey Ops aren't concerned about being fired, so it must have been given the green light by ownership.

Big job for a rookie GM. Other than the exceptional player, draftees take 4 or 5 years to become real NHL'ers. That's longer than entry level contracts. In the mean time, veterans playing out the string or guys looking for 1 last contract will be the entertainment at the UC.

I just wonder whether Rocky realizes how bad this is going to be and for how long.

They're not that stupid, they understand. At some level, you have to admire the buy it across the board to tear it totally down and rebuild. They know it will cost them money, but figure it will pay off long run.

Of course as always, it boggles my mind when people worry about Rocky and the Wirtz families money.

They couldn't spend it in 100 years, but always people are concerned

Time to get very excited Paul, Gus is in the Leafs lineup tonight wearing #56.

If he does well during his time in Toronto, KD will probably give him a rich UFA contract to help with the rebuild.

They are realistic, from what i understand they lowered the season ticket prices or the pick 5 or pick 10 or half the season packages

Believe me I'm not concerned about Rocky & Co. losing money.

But people with money never like losing any. And they definitely don't like to be the butt of jokes and scorn.

They lowered the prices the last 2 years but not for next year. Starting last year, I think, may have been a year earlier, season ticket holders had the option to go to half a season while retaining the same seats and ticket holder "perks"

Well, I should clarify, mine didn't change. The amount of change each year depended on the level of ticket. So it's possible there were changes for next year, just not in my level.

Don’t forget the players share in the revenues 50/50, so they share in the lack of revenue too. Players just love those escrow payments they have to make.

His losses on the hockey team will offset profits on the real estate and liquor businesses and reduce the tax bite.

Looks like Kane is still in a Blackhawk uniform; floating around and getting knocked off of the puck easily. I don't see how much use he'll be in a tight checking playoff series.
He's still got plenty of skill, though.

I can tolerate watching a talent poor team that plays hard, smart, fast, and physical. Dumb and slow and/or bad goaltending is miserable to watch.

You could be right, LR may have them punching above their weight, playing well but more importantly playing hard, playing right and playing for the future. However some fans have to know it could be a long, ugly run as well.

He looked pretty good in a few tight checking and rough playoff series I’ve witnessed. Did you not see those?
