Hey, who knows? Maybe the kid has a firm grasp on the real estate market in Manhattan? |

Because if so then the final half hour is when deals get done - jhawk59
Yes 2:00 P.M.

And he keeps leaving - LAHawk
In fairness, one of the departures was when he was claimed by Vegas. I'm not disagreeing with you, but it would be interesting to hear Perron's perspective on it. |

For some Chicago fans KD trading Kaner is the equivalent to King Charles evicting Prince Harry and the Queen for a Day Meghan Markle from their palace. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. - RickJ
The trade was the right thing to do.
But don't shut the door on if he chooses he wants to play here again
I see Its an all or nothing crowd
Its a we should of gotten more for him but Kane (frank)ed us so i hate him
Since he (frank)ed us i never want him back here ever again crowd

Johnny B not Good < health issues prevail
Maybe he has a few moments but one year of more pain than game is not worth it. But Toews is a warrior and he might try to soldier onward if he has even a 50% chance to contribute one last hurrah. Too bad Winnipeg seems to be a team that just cannot get over the hump to the next level of winning when they actually are a playoff team |

Agreed BTD, trade was best for both sides.
To get your mind off it for a week and after you watch John Rahm win the Arnold Palmer Invitational, tune into The Brier - starts tonight, Canadian Curling championship. These guys are great. Maybe ESPN picks up the TSN feed. One day I hope they let an American team into it to challenge. Some good teams out of Wisconsin. |

Montreal receives a 5th round pick from Pittsburgh for Salary Retention.
Seems Salary Retention is not worth as much as a hockey player as future considerations. |

Jets play in Edmonton tonight, should be a good game. Chevaldayoff is way too conservative a GM - he could have gone all out for Chykrun considering how cheap Ottawa got him for. |

While awaiting the deadline transactions, chew on this
I can rattle off many of the bloggers here to chime in on the observation/comment below. But I would especially enjoy Rick blunt remark which I am sure is not only spot on, but may inject some sarcasm or humor sometimes
If the Oilers get Krug, the first reaction is, wow what will they do with both Ekholm and Krug
Like other offensive teams in the playoffs, namely Leafs and NYR, unless they get lucky their demise will be the level of dedication and effective defensive effort. For Edm the rest of the team has to maintain a majority of puck control and not just with face offs. Skinner isn’t good enough, right, to rely upon against loaded Western Conference teams.
They couldn’t beat Colorado
In the Eastern Conference I wouldn’t be surprised if Tampa wears down before they get to the final round. Lots of mileage on some players last few Cup years. They made some helpful moves around this deadline but are they too tired to get to the final?
Perhaps some coaching strategy/ adjustments helps one team beat another and I mean defensively
Many readers here see more games league wide regular season than I do.
I believe I make valid points |

I am not much into the rumor mill. At the trade deadline however it is convenient enough to sneak a peak on the hockeybuzz hotline. Just today not throughout the season much at all
He lists Parayko AND two # 1 for E Karlsson
Karlsson is a difference maker and quietly has registered 18 goals too. His age, his ankles No thank you. Beside, I take Parayko straight up |

So Kulokiv to Penguins. Sure he helps. They got the consolation prize in the trade deadline sweepstakes.
Sure the Penguins are lucky if they even win the first round. Although if they happened to get Tom Wilson then the Penguins could maybe pull an upset or two …,maybe if Wilson pulls a Playoff hero role like a certain retired Blackhawks LW. Nope I don’t think they even get Wilson and if they did, it’s a long shot |

Richardson said he'd like to re-sign Max Domi this summer:
"I told him I’d love him to come back. But we have to see...what kind of prospect pool is coming in and who’s available in the summer. But he’s shown he fits in here really well, and that’s always a good option."

More Richardson on Domi: "He really liked it here. He loved it, the city and the team — and it showed. I thought he played with passion.
But he's excited and he knows that he's really going to a team that's good and strong and has a chance to win." |

Four straight first round exits for the Pens. There's so many more talented teams than them this season.

Some chatter with less than 3 hours til the deadline:
- SJ wants a draft pick for Namestnikov
- WPG, DAL looking at bottom-6F. Sheary an option.
- Jets also eyeing bigger add
- LA's Bjornfot (+ 2 1sts) offered for Chychrun
- Quiet in CGY, for now
- SEA been in mix for Klingberg - LAHawk
Looks like SEA has decided to stand pat and stick with their long game... Interesting how they are approaching their build. |

I don't blame them if Wiz is right about this draft class, you see Stevie Y doing the same as well as the Blues. Blues and Stevie draft well

Luke Richardson: "I'm sure Kyle (Davidson will) probably need a week sleep after this. But they're doing a good job. They're doing what they have to do and that was their plan at the beginning. Unfortunately, some things sting, but it's gonna look good in the future." |

He knows Domi is re-signing and I'm betting a couple others he has in mind. Plus he was told when hired what the plan was, so non of this is a surprise to him.
I like him a lot |

Toews probably going to retire.
Kane unlikely to be back.
Hawks definitely will sign some midIdle of the road/useful vets for next season to keep the team populated. The next season or two or three will be more guys either looking for a change of scenery or having something to prove (like Domi this year) on a short term contract.
I think we'll find out sooner rather than later if Kurashev or Raddysh fit into the long term plan.
