By that time Domi will be in Year 2 of the 5 year contract he signs with the Hawks this summer. |

He sort of looks like Sam Lafferty - I'm sure he will be the red-faced guy on the bench. Let's hope LR makes him as productive as Sam turned out to be.

Add Wagner as a body to finish the year. Last year of his contract. Don't see him being resigned.
Reichel probably sent down as some point to play the playoffs in Rockford |

Man what a gutless organization that is......maybe they come out of with their current group but I just don't see it. Not with that lack of firepower. I would be absolutely furious if I were a fan of the Canes. That's assuming they make it past the wildcard team which I think is far from a given. |

i really have ZERO issues of how this deadline was handled.
I like where things are headed. I think this team has the right NHL coach....and he has good support guys and hopefully Dean can mold the future prospects into building blocks.
They have 8 picks in the 1st, 3 rounds of the upcoming draft. Could go down to 7 when the Rangers make the conference finals.
They have 42.1 million in cap space heading into the summer and only have 1 of 3 contracts retained so if they decide to ship out a clown like Murphy next deadline, they can..... They can take on bad money, they can sign whoever.
Short term....the roster is horrible which is EXACTLY what EVERYONE should want so we can get the best odds at a top 3 pick, if not THE pick. Sorry some can't comprehend the idea of a rebuild. This is how it's done, and how it's done properly because doing it half ass only leads to not being good enough to make the playoffs, and not being bad enough to get a top pick...a no mans land that only sets your team back years to come.
I hope the Rangers win the cup. I don't blame kane...I don't buy into articles by @ss hat Lazerus claiming Kane was butt hurt...maybe he was a little but intentionally stalling to screw over the hawks? Yeah...no....another slanted piece to have fans rally against this team as he continues his quest on his Beach, Hull trail. Best news is hopefully the clown gets a job back in NY and never is heard from again |

Having a multitude of picks is the key here. Liking what the 2023 draft may bring even if it isn't a home run with our 1st to 5th overall pick.
Love lamenting on taking Barker with the 3rd overall in 2004, but look what we did with 4 2nd rounders and a late gem in the 7th:
2004 Entry 3 1 Cam Barker D Medicine Hat Tigers [WHL] 310 21 75 96 290
2004 Entry 32 2 Dave Bolland C London Knights [OHL] 433 85 123 208 299
2004 Entry 41 2 Bryan Bickell L Ottawa 67's [OHL] 395 66 70 136 192
2004 Entry 45 2 Ryan Garlock C Windsor Spitfires [OHL]
2004 Entry 54 2 Jakub Sindel C Sparta Praha [Czech]
2004 Entry 68 3 Adam Berti L Oshawa Generals [OHL] 2 0 0 0 0
2004 Entry 120 4 Mitch Maunu D Windsor Spitfires [OHL]
2004 Entry 123 4 Karel Hromas L Sparta Jrs. (Czech Rep)
2004 Entry 131 5 Trevor Kell R London Knights [OHL]
2004 Entry 140 5 Jake Dowell C U. of Wisconsin [WCHA] 157 11 22 33 133
2004 Entry 165 6 Scott McCulloch L Grande Prairie Storm [AJHL]
2004 Entry 196 7 Petri Kontiola C Tappara Tampere [SM-liiga] 12 0 5 5 6
2004 Entry 214 7 Troy Brouwer R Moose Jaw Warriors [WHL] 851 182 181 363 595
2004 Entry 223 7 Jared Walker L Red Deer Rebels [WHL]
2004 Entry 229 8 Eric Hunter C Prince George Cougars [WHL]
2004 Entry 256 8 Matthew Ford R Sioux Falls Stampede [USHL]
2004 Entry 260 9 Marko Anttila R Lempaala (Finland) |

I think even the BOD will come to their senses and realize what transpired with the Kane trade wasn’t a conspiracy by Kane or Brisson and that Toews is in fact out with a medical issue and not some scam devised because he’s upset with the rebuild. Unfortunately it had to happen. But Kane and Toews along with a few others are synonymous with the Chicago Blackhawks and with the three championships. It’s unlikely Kane will be much of a factor for the Rangers as I don’t think they have the supporting cast and it may be too late for Kane to gel with his new team. I hope, Kane, Seabrook, Keith, Hossa and possibly Hjalmarsson and Crawford all sign one day contracts to retire as Blackhawks.

So when does KD start signing players that are part of the rebuild?
This offseason, next or year 3?
How do you layer FA signings? |

I'll say next. I think this season you'll see some more Domi and AA type signings...possibly Domi himself. |

Imo depends on the development of young players are progressing. I would next be same as this last fill ins to flip at the tdl with maybe the exception of domi. I could them bring back AA on another one year deal. Plus them having a lot of cap space, trading for bad contracts and assets coming back. |
