I’m surprised AA wasn’t moved today? Not angry about it - just find it curious. I guess KD didn’t find a market for another fast player with little to no finish? - Chief4Feathers
Yep, no market for AA, we shouldn’t be surprised. |

Interesting, last year at the deadline, Domi was traded for a 6th round pick - vabeachbear
KD finds those rough-cut stones in the market and LR puts a polish on them - makes a tidy draft-pick profit. |

I have no issue with AA. He is what he is. Been a good soldier. Has played everywhere, 1st line, third line, haven’t heard a peep out of him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is back again for $3 mil. For a year. He isn’t blocking anyone. |

I would like to see him back however if there was no market for him at his present salary, then AA has to come back at a lesser salary. |

Now that the NHL Trade Deadline has passed, a reminder that #Blackhawks NCAA prospects are in
@B1GHockey
conference tournament action starting tonight
Frank Nazar (Michigan vs. Wisconsin)
Jake Wise (Ohio State vs. Penn State)
Landon Slaggert (Notre Dame vs. Michigan State) - LAHawk
Didn't know that Ryder Rolston from Notre Dame was out for the year with a collarbone injury. He was having a really good season so far. Might be someone to sign this summer if recovered. |

No worries we are stacked in draft capital. KiD did a great job of amassing draft picks. |

Give him a $25x1 deal to hit the cap floor. At the deadline we offer to retain $12.5 on the highest paid NHLer ever, who can say no? |

What has Kurashev done to deserve a 5 year contract? For that matter what has Kurashev done to deserve other than a minimal raise?
Dach got 4 years $3.3 AAV. Is Kurashev worth even 1/2 of that? - LAHawk
Kurashev is a kid I think a switch might be flipped soon. 23 yrs old listed at 6ft 190lbs he's stout with some nice skill in his hands and skates well enough. Seems more assertive (confident) this yr winning a lot of puck/wall battles and is close to making plays in open ice off the rush.
Seems to have the tools to be an effective 3rd line 2 way guy who can slot up in a pinch. ....... Looks like he's gonna get the ice time the next couple yrs to make that jump.

And has improved greatly in tight skating areas with the puck, and if you want to tilt the ice with the cycle you need 6 of these guys on the bottom 6.

I wonder what trades were discussed involving the hawks and other teams that did not materialize before the end of the tdl. For example Turcotte from LA |

I still expect Reichel to be shipped out before next season starts. |

Davidson would be lucky to get a 3rd for him. If he does, he should take it and run. (RF) |

Because bowman and Kelly were pretty much on drafted the same type of player each year. Speed compete high hickey IQ smaller in size not a lot physicality to their game European for the most part. But I was doing the same thing about drafting mercer or shearer. Both brought something hawks were lacking physicality to their game. Which is still important. Bowman never imo understood need a balance lineup. |

Maybe in 2018 and before you could say that. The draft before Reichel was their first rounder, he took Kirby Dach. They used their 3rd round pick in the same draft as Reichel on Landon Slaggert.
In the '21 draft, they seemed to decide that smallish dmen may not be the way to go and took a bunch of blue liners who were 6'2" and taller. Colton Dach was also taken in that draft. |

They also selected D Alex Vlasic in ‘19 - 2nd round after Dach. He’s 6’6” / 195lbs.
I really thought the Hawks hit home runs with their top two selections in that draft. Clearly… I’m no expert. |

Mercer and sheider are in the nhl and making a impact. I know also every player develops differently and take longer than others, hopefully Reichel Vlasic and others can make the necessary steps to become important and impact players for the Blackhawks in the future. |

Same.
Vlasic may still pan out but I like the kid the Dach trade netted them (Nazar). Pretty sure I just relegated him to being a bust with that statement though. |

I said if you made that statement in 2018, you'd have mostly been correct...but it's not 2018 anymore.
Also like how the BOD's shoveling dirt on Reichel before he's played more than a couple dozen games.
He looked pretty good the last time he was called up and I am pretty sure he'll be on the Big Club to start next season. |
