I would have kept Hronek and traded Chiarot. Chiarot is the one that makes every partner he plays with suck. I just hope he doesn't turn around and trade for Weegar, Parayko, Dumba or Karlsson. Maybe a RD that isn't said to be on the market like John Carlson from the Caps. He's getting up there in age (33) but he sure as hell can still produce and would be an upgrade over Hronek.

Maybe but he won't be by the end of his contract. He's not having a very good season with the Flames with only 1 goal, 18 points in 60 games though. With his contract running until he's like 37 years old, that is kind of scary with his production this season.

Lucic def isn't the player he use to be but in a 4th line limited role he could be fine. The man can still hit like a truck and scrap against anyone.

I don’t write about this a lot, but I wanted to thank you all. The comments, the reading, everything. I ended up having a “mini stroke” last week and lost an uncle 2 nights ago. It’s been a bad run. 4 dead relatives since about September. Sometimes just seeing you all respond and take the time makes a horrible situation better. So, thank you. I agree. Lucic in 2010, maybe. He sometimes looks like he really screws things up for the team. It’s tough to be a “big man” for a long career any more. The lean, hard as steel guys seem to have the right physique for a good run (Ovi and Kessel excluded). I like Veleno’s game a lot more 10 lbs lighter. McDavid is a lean machine. Weight is especially tough on goalies (sports hernia etc). Lucic has trouble keeping up with the play and it feels like it’s just going to get faster. Kids training at 5 and hockey treadmills. It’s unreal

I can see where you’re coming from. I see it a bit different but he for sure can hit hard. I think he’s broken glass a time or two. It’s hard to balance what the game is becoming and the “tried and true” resources a team wants to have (a modern day enforcer, much different than 30 years ago).
