Stop with the LD

My hope of hopes is that he has an ELC ready or a righty in his sights. I feel better about the left side as a whole. Seider is the guy for me, but having another couple righty’s signed (as you rightly pointed out a couple blogs ago) would be a big relief

Pens are clearing space and have been linked to JT Miller. If Van retains salary, that amount goes of both his contracts, right? Or can they just retain on his current contract only?
- HenryHockey

Should be able to retain on current contract and not the extension but the scenario has never happened before.

I guess when the Pens are done with him after the play-offs, they could flip him with retained salary befor July 1 when his NMC kicks in! That would be novel! They can't keep him unless they jettison all of Petry's salary!

Toronto has like a billion NHL defensemen right now. Bertuzzi plus extras for Liljegren; get it done Yzerman.

(Yes I know that this isn't happening.)

Have to think Bertuzzi will be the next Wing that gets traded. Him and Yzerman are not even close to a deal is what's being reported. Wonder if we'll actually get a player back for him or at least a good pick or two. I'm guessing he won't be in the lineup tomorrow night vs. Seattle. We'll see...

I don’t write about this a lot, but I wanted to thank you all. The comments, the reading, everything. I ended up having a “mini stroke” last week and lost an uncle 2 nights ago. It’s been a bad run. 4 dead relatives since about September. Sometimes just seeing you all respond and take the time makes a horrible situation better. So, thank you. More than I can put into words, thank you

I don't comment much (or ever really) but I am a regular reader and really appreciate the posts, always a go to after the games or moves that happen.

Sorry to hear about how things are going, hope it turns around for you.

Thanks so much for that. Things got a little nuts, so every day I try to say a “thank you” in my prayers (used to be a worship director, hard habits to break). I wake up in a house with electricity, heat and running water. There’s food in the fridge and I’ve been blessed to be married for almost 24 years to a wonderful woman. It’s when I lose sight of all the stuff that so much of the world lives without that I lose sight of being really blessed. Thank you again, this has been a big boost for me today

That is getting a lot of speculation. With only one meeting “on record” last fall it sure seems that way. But, a lot of down time with surgery could have messed some of that up. Who knows. I don’t feel like he’s got his “game” back, but he goes for it. I wouldn’t mind a little shakeup on the line with Larkin and Perron. I’d say Vrana but good grief is there something going on there. Just seems like a shame and a waste at this point

I'd be fine with Kubalik on the top line instead of Bertuzzi... Agree Bert's game isn't what it used to be and I think it's due to the injuries.

Sure would be nice to see Vrana in the lineup on a regular basis. They can easily rotate him in more often and sit Zadina or another winger. Total waste of Vrana's talent to sit him out so often and makes no sense.

Jeremy, we find solace in the familiar. This place, this blog, for you (and all of us, really) is a place of comfort. You set a standard for us, an example for humanity. And you built a kind of Family (yes, capitalized "F", a formal designation in the Military...deservedly so here as well...). Because of that Family, you have support, prayers, and folks who would do just about anything for you. Lean on us as we've leaned on you during troubled times. We will ALWAYS have your back.

Hronek's gone. Who saw that one coming?!?!? Something about cards close to the chest??? Now, last year we were clamoring for him to go, this year not so much. Good return, overall. BUT.....think we might be a bit weak on one of those D-lines...... The thing is, I was diggin' Hronek & Maata; that was a good tandem. Maata & Walman were awesome gets for this club. So, now wondering what's to come Does Eddy get a call-up? I'm not so sure he does, but at this point we're all just spit-balling. I read numerous commenters who stated that The Captain's lost his mind; reckon that's based upon their years and years of GMing in the NHL and massive hauls of awards........ Going to be interesting what comes to us by tomorrow.

Wishing Hronek well. He was actually a decent player, maybe not stellar (I thought he was OK, honestly.....and I defer to my massive haul of awards as a GM in the NHL ). Is Bert next?

I dunno, H2 I've always been an O6 fan, but Marchand really soured me with his antics......However, I do LOVE the Pasta commercials for Dunkin'

EDIT: Pasta re-signs w/BOS; 8x$90m....SportsNet.

Yeah.....kind of agree, they don't even have good doughnut stores there (despite Pasta's efforts, and funny commercials), nothing beats Tim's.....and I REALLY miss Tim's
