Torts is currently on the Best Show Ever calling the Flyers organization unprofessionally managed.

According to Tortorella, there is no disconnect. They're all on the same page.

Tortorella is no where near the right coach for an established team to take the next step. That's exactly what he's not. No team is taking the next step with his version of hockey.

- MJL

And I believe the page Torts told those other two morons to be on is whatever He tells them to be on.

For entertainment purposes, I’m going to think of Torts like he’s Shoresy trying to save the Bulldogs from folding.

I don't know what to expect for the future of the Flyers at the upper level. I agree I don't think Torts should be the guy, but I've learned the value of "shoulds". Will he outlive his welcome, or is it possible he has more staying power than the people above him? He might just be putting himself over, but he's talking a good game should change come suddenly.

have the feeling it won't happen this year, but chuck gone before the end of next season. torts will probably at least get another full year. the third year is when it gets iffy. they knew what they were getting when they hired him. but who knows at this point. if others are right maybe this summer he does the promote himself thing. anytime would be wonderful really.

all one can do is laugh real hard. Younger doesn't equal better. One again really no set path or direction.

A lot of thoughts running through my head. First, Hextall originally convinced Scott, Holmgren, etc that the team needed to change. The upper level though had very unrealistic expectations of how fast that would happen and eventually balked, lost patience and turned on that. That's when jackass Scott said that they can turn this around with a few moves to be relevant again and that they want to be a cap team. So now going on 5 years later, if Tortorella is to be believed, they now need to reverse and build it the right way? How long of a leash will be given for this version 2.0? Because it's going to get worse before it gets better unless the Flyers get extremely lucky extremely quickly.
- MJL

The track record doesn't inspire confidence in the Flyers' capacity to commit to a rebuild. We'll probably be right back here in five or eight years, with the franchise refusing to accept the inevitable rebuild 3.0 because they accidentally undercooked the team before going all in again.

No matter what, we'll have to get lucky. The circumstances for the Flyers to be relevent again are, at this point, not foreseeable.

I've been saying for good portion of time that this is a 5-10 year process knowing full well that it's going to be closer to the latter.

You will have to trust me I guess, I am not sure how to post directly.

Thanks...the medical staff comments and entitlement comments are great. Nice that he's concerned about the young guys playing in the ahl for their run. Kevin's name has to be out there. he just lets it all out.

The cold reality is there's no predicting when a rebuild comes to fruition. It takes consistently good decision making. The Flyers should have been putting themselves in more opportunistic positions instead of, uh, whatever we want to call the past few years.

They also knew what they were getting with TDA and they paid a haul for him.
They knew what they were getting with Hayes and they paid him 7.1 per and gave him a modified NTC
They hired Fletcher and had to know what they were getting with him after he handcuffed MN as well.
They absolutely knew what and who Torts is but they hired him as well...
They may know but even if they do they apparently don't give a rats butt.
They have no idea how to assemble a winning team and they have no idea how to evaluate a player's worth, nor evaluate his game/skills

Thanks for the link. That was interesting. Never heard that Barber was hired to be Scott’s personal hockey advisor before. Got to agree with ASF, I was never impressed with Barber beyond his playing days.

The shortened Scott/Barber situation. This is painful to say the least.

That's been out in the open for a while. It was portrayed more as Barber is the liaison between the hockey ops department and Scott.

I like Torts. I do…

But defending him, his decisions (TO) and his overall attitude is so exhausting. With this said, I would take him over AV or Yeo all day, everyday. Those two were the biggest let down.

I feel this. Look at the roster. Look at the organizational moves from the last decade and especially this last year. None of that is on Torts. I get that everyone questions the what ifs and has doubts about moving forward from here. It’s just that 99.9% of my doubts lie squarely on the GM and overall organizational decisions not coaching. Torts is a good coach.

Hexy also had no clue about valuable qualities of bottom six forwards, knowing when a coach has lost the room and player development. Hexy is a great asst gm but a terrible gm
