I don't care about current stats or how well the team is playing, value is based on the players' ability and what they bring to help the other team.

Not sure I can buy with a high degree teams do not want to deal with the flyers. If they can make their team better imo they will.

Now there will always be exceptions and what not.

So you're telling me that if another team really likes a player on the Flyers, they won't pursue that player to help their team because they don't want to deal with the Flyers. That's not the case. What the Flyers are offering at this time and what they're willing to do is the issue. In the context of trades to be made at this time.

Fletcher must have convinced Scott/Barber his plan is really good "only if". "Only if" Ellis, Coots, and Atkinson did not get hurt. Fletcher would not have wasted all that draft capital on Ghost, Risto. and DeAngelo. #1 center already here. 30 goal scorer already here. By using "only if" Homer should not have been fired because history would have been different without the Pronger injury. Scott/Barber are a disgrace.

Well #1 is 100% absolutely true. My hope all along was that Chuck could find at least one other GM out there as brain dead as him that would give up something of value for him.

Just like this mess everyone is complaining about is new, this was seen more than 10 years ago and most just covered their eyes making excuses. Unless major changes happen we will be talking about the same thing again in 5 years...with a new GM, new coach, new players.

Yeah I find it hard to believe that he didn't know about the lawsuits that were all over the news months before he took the job. That 16 mil made everything a lot easier. Also, when talking of entitlement around the locker room, not sure if he was referring to players or personnel. Maybe he was being purposefully vague, or are there actual front office staff hanging around the locker room?

So in other words, they wanted Hexy to speed up the process because they thought it was taking too long.

Let's wait until later today before we call Fletcher incompetent. He did get a good return for Giroux while Giroux tied his hands and feet, so maybe he can come through today. From what I am reading this morning, Vegas wants JVR and has a 3rd round pick this year and a 2nd round pick next year. If I am Fletcher, I ask them for one of those picks in return for JVR and I cover half the remaining salary. If this is what happens given the way JVR has played, Fletcher would deserve some credit.

Its really simple. Hexy got fired because he alienated people in the organization including his most ardent supporter, Paul Holmgren. And when Scott and others got impatient with what was happening with the team, Hextall had no one in Scott's ear to defend him, and thus he was fired. That's how it works in general, if people like and support you, they put up with bad results, otherwise they use those bad results as a reason to fire you!
