I would argue Sanheim and Laughton were not C level players. The organization chose to extend both before the trade deadline. I do not believe it is a stretch to assume the Flyers acquiring at least 3 draft picks and at a least a prospect in return. Plus, the cap savings. Now, the counter balance are both players viewed as fpundation pieces to a real contender. - Trox88
Are they really available for trade?

He will be here at close of business. None of the reportedly interested teams have the cap space to take him even with retention. |
|
|
|
On a side note because Bettman is as bad at being commissioner as Chuck Fletcher is at being GM.
The network that the NHL signed their US TV contract with, ESPN, doesn’t have any live coverage of the nhl trade deadline.
There is a reason that Hockey is losing its spot in the big 4 of American sports. |

Lazar to the Devils...
Teams are trading for players with term over anything the Flyers have. |

Which is ultimately why they cannot make any moves this deadline.
The players other teams want have too much term or money.
The players that are affordable are not desirable.
And when you have no mid level picks to move to help broker a deal, well, there you go |

That's what I'm wondering. It would be quite foolish to do so. Curtis Lazar just got Vancouver a 4th. |

Teams are calling the Caps about Tom Wilson. The country club would probably sell (what’s left of) the farm for him. Even in a losing season. |

They should be and should have been as their previous contracts were about to expire. The players on this team who have played over the last 2 years of losing, how many should stay on the team long term? I would argue just 2, maybe 3. Players like Tippett, Cates, and York are exempt because they have not been here for the entire 2 years. |

JVR is a power play specialist and they swallow whistles in the POs. It's probably more about his role not being in high demand vs making the money work.
