It's the baggage and money, mostly baggage that got the Flyers the 5th.

I think they also wanted the actual body to put in the lineup. They are sending down a good group of the young players. Not sure how close Mac was to returning. I am also assuming Lemiuex is healthy.

Watching the inaction at this deadline is like the cherry on top. The Flyers are more of a joke then the Coyotes and they play in a college area. When has a major market team fallen so bad. I know teams go through ups and downs but this team is hated by there own fans because of this front office with what looks like no plan to get out of it

Hextall was not fired for alienating people. He was fired because the rebuild was taking too long in their eyes. You think in the real world how it works is people will put up with bad results if they like you? Sometimes, but in general, no that is not how it works. What are you talking about?
- MJL

Hextall was fired for alienating the higher ups/locking them out etc.
That is what my source kept telling me who is very close to the team for 25 years.

but i'm sure you know better than him...

Hey we all love Bill so at least for his sake we’re happy for him since his review of this trade deadline will be 2 sentences long. Here, I’ll do it for him.

FLYERS REMAIN IRRELEVANT
Fletcher gave Ratliff away and acquired Lemieux. He remains the Flyers general manager.

The end. This is so funny how pathetic the Flyers have become!

you know getting a 1st round pick in a deep draft would have been nice but i guess we can settle for the stud that brendan lemieux is

I don't know why the rest of the league is not following this formula. Think of the space that whoever centers those two is going to get. I bet he is really good in the room also. Great intangibles.

Last couple years Is as bad as it gets. But people up and arms about a deadline when we don’t have much to trade is an overreaction

Not that it really matters what happened today unless the idiot actually made a meaningful move that might suggest a direction. Another year of ineptitude. Torts said it best the other day. The Flyers are no longer a respected organization. That falls all the feet of the front office.

If Curtis Lazar can get a 4th…I would think the Flyers had quite a few guys that could have been moved. Even if it’s just for late round picks…he needs to do his (frank)ing job and actually attempt to gather assets. He’s got an hour .

If not for overreactions, it would be dead silent in Flyers world. There's not much of substance, present or future, to discuss. Respect to all the Vulkans out there who've been logically quiet this whole time, though. Live long and prosper.
