JVR stays, and i smell a 8 year 4.7 mill per extension

EDIT: As Bruce Boudreau said on TSN. He would have taken an 8th round pick for JVR. Likely a 9th for Braun.

I think Flyers overvalued JVR. Were shocked by the lack of interest, and the quality of return being offered. I would not be surprised at all to find out that Chuck did JVR a solid by not making him move for return that he really didn't want to accept anyway. Would rather do right by a good soldier like JVR

I'm not sure about the 3rd but he could have traded him weeks ago if he was honest about his team. Not only would making the playoffs be a stretch but were they going to beat Rangers/Carolina/Devils/Toronto/Tampa/Boston? Unlikely.

Did you see the names on who got traded today? Plenty of so-so guys get moved at the deadline. You can't keep making excuses for a GM to not try to upsell his guys.

Braun is not a so-so guy. I've tried to explain why there is no interest in Braun. He is done. Can't keep blaming the GM for not being able to trade a player that nobody wants.

I doubt there was any interest at all in Braun. Flyers moved him at last year's deadline to the NYR, and he was a healthy scratch for them in the POs. When he did get in the lineup, he was brutal & a liability IIRC. He can't play anymore.

Like I said it probably just as well to get him off the book at the end of the year, no one is going to miss that 5th or 6th round pick just to cover some salary. I am fine with it, I really am. JVR is not good and like Braun no team contending wanted a slow and one-dimensional player.

Well he will just say there was no market. Not exactly what you think when the head coach says they will be sellers. Not only that but keeping guys keeps them stronger the rest of the year. I’m not a fan of tanking but I’m not a fan of aiming for 22 nd over all either.
