yes he can. There is no reason why he cant. He chooses not to, which I understand to a degree. Flyers own the media and their BS narrative.

I think Flyers overvalued JVR. Were shocked by the lack of interest, and the quality of return being offered. I would not be surprised at all to find out that Chuck did JVR a solid by not making him move for return that he really didn't want to accept anyway. Would rather do right by a good soldier like JVR
- Big_E_88

If they want to do him a solid, they should just waive him, eat the remainder of his salary and allow a contender to claim him for a stretch run...not sure league rules at this point in the season allow that.

Do you know how many reports are just made up, especially around the deadline, just to use as click bait? If a team wanted JVR they would have got JVR. NO ONE WANTED HIM and lets be honest, do we blame them?
- jd250

they are all made up except the ones you quote to support your narrative. got it.

So why do you use them to support your argument if they are made up?

we disagree. part of being a reporter is well telling the truth, well it used to be.

He likes he check and as I said cant fault him for that. Though surely he can get another job with all the good work and experience he has no?

If allowed, and it were announced later this evening that was what they were doing, would you really be all that shocked?

When I hear people saying things like:

"No one wanted him" or "They have no value"

It's excuses for a crappy GM and organization. If they have no value then WTF are they in the NHL?

Patrick Brown just got a 6th!!!!!!

No one is beating down doors for Patrick Brown....and he just got a 6th!

He always seems pretty happy in these pressers. A lot happier than us fans who have been around for decades and actually love the team…he just annoys me …

Sure but Curtis Lazar was definitely a target….c’mon man …it’s pretty simple, he either wanted more than others wanted to pay and overplayed his hand and once again failed. The Flyers were willing to eat half….now $ seems to get late round draft picks, but if they were only getting offered a 5th rounder then perhaps that’s the issue…of course that’s what the organization will say.
Honestly if it turns out to add another nail in the coffin or further infuriate the season tickets holders then it might be a successful day.

You're kidding me right? You parroted anything written by anybody to try and support your opinions. Now you're going to lecture someone on reports that are made up? There isn't enough space on this website to list everything you've gotten wrong.

JVR's a power play specialist and the refs swallow whistles in the POs. And how many contending teams' PP units aren't already set by now?

The market for him was gonna be limited.

Plugs like Brown and Mac... rightly or wrongly, GMs believe they serve a purpose in PO attrition.

This is really a failed logic. There is what, 700+ players in the NHL. Is every player tradeable at the deadline? Or does it depend on demand? You can't just willfully trade any player you want. It takes two to tango.

bill can't outright say this franchise is (frank)ing worse than dog water. I feel sorry for him

Ya but over all he try’s to stay fairly in the middle…tough to write anything good after a day like today. So just tell us what happened. He doesn’t form my own opinions on anything, I do that all on my own.

I’m absolutely surprised JvR wasn’t moved. I think it’s weird some of you on here taking this grand stance of “I knew it” and happy to be right. Zach Mac-F-in-Ewen was moved today for two pieces. Who could predict that?

I partly blame the organization, not for waiting but he was never used to his strengths. This isn’t to say JvR is without flaws. He’s a flawed player but not allowing him to start most of, if not all power plays as a net front lowers his value to almost nothing.

Maybe so, but I'm sure that at least 2 weeks ago before all the PO teams were finalizing their rosters, if it were known that it would only cost a 3 or 4 and some salary retained, he would have been gone.
