Maybe so, but I'm sure that at least 2 weeks ago before all the PO teams were finalizing their rosters, if it were known that it would only cost a 3 or 4 and some salary retained, he would have been gone. - RustyPipes
Think about what you just wrote, everyone knew the price for JVR wasn’t much, no one was expecting it to be a first or second. Even the fans in this group thought it was a low mid round pick
It's excuses for a crappy GM and organization. If they have no value then WTF are they in the NHL?
Patrick Brown just got a 6th!!!!!!
No one is beating down doors for Patrick Brown....and he just got a 6th! - Glak18
For me, it's not that I think JVR literally has no value. It's that this crappy GM & organization that is stuck in the stone age overvalued him to the point that they likely balked at & turned down some mid/late round pick offers in recent days. Then dug in thinking they would eventually get an offer they felt was fair. But that never happened, and those offers that were previously viewed as unacceptable were probably no longer on the table. I agree that he should've been moved for literally anything

JVR was never a player that would've been traded early regardless of cost of return. Teams only have so much cap and roster space. Some pretty good players were traded. GM's know who is going to be available. JVR was a fall back player that apparently there wasn't a ton of interest in, even this late. There certainly wouldn't have been more interest earlier.
I’m absolutely surprised JvR wasn’t moved. I think it’s weird some of you on here taking this grand stance of “I knew it” and happy to be right. Zach Mac-F-in-Ewen was moved today for two pieces. Who could predict that?
I partly blame the organization, not for waiting but he was never used to his strengths. This isn’t to say JvR is without flaws. He’s a flawed player but not allowing him to start most of, if not all power plays as a net front lowers his value to almost nothing. - SuperSchennBros
Braun is not a so-so guy. I've tried to explain why there is no interest in Braun. He is done. Can't keep blaming the GM for not being able to trade a player that nobody wants. - MJL
Prove to me nobody wants him. I think you underestimate how much teams need depth in the playoff runs and even if he's in the press box and a 7th guy it's worth a 7th round pick.

I'm not so sure everyone knew that the price wasn't so great. It was just put out today that he was seeking a 3rd. The music was stopping and the chairs were going away and CF boxed himself into corner. I think something similar happened last year as well. The smarter GMs started dealing 2 weeks ago.

And I’m sure JVr was on the top of everyone’s list 😂 get in early before it’s gone! Take a reality check please
please re-sign him to at least a 1 year ext. That would be awesome.
I hope JVR on his own comes up with a phantom injury and says f this franchise - hello it's me 2050
actually i hope the next step is send any of the kids down to experience the playoff run for the phantoms. don't care if we are dressing 9 skaters and 5 d men.
they gained a lot of experience this year. lmissing the last 10 games of the season won;t hurt.

Agreed, he held out hope this team could compete based on his earlier comments in December. Then the coach, who he is not on the same page with, beat him to the mic and announced this team did not have the players to challenge for the playoffs and CF was left scrambling in the final week. An absolute CF by CF.

No roster spots as of last night at midnight so roster space doesn't mean anything and plenty of teams willing to take on retained salary. Hung on too long, asked for too much. We can agree to disagree though.

The proof is that he appears on the Flyers roster rather than a list of deals made at the deadline.
