He just got done saying the only thing he has are rentals to deal...the biggest one is JvR if he had no offers then he didn't do much of anything else. Certainly didn't take weeks to work out a deal for Brown, which probably took 3 minutes to finalize. MacEwen isn't a rental soooooo what did he do.

I’m sure no one batted an eye. The press conferences are a corporate suckfest. Would love to see one of these guys have the stones to really go after these bums.

Yesterday I would have disagreed, but not today. MacEwen actually gave the team energy, and was liked by the players. He was starting to get points. He's no McDavid, but if you can get points from your 4th line, is a bonus. And Brown, who was sound defensively and was the classic board battle guy, - both developed to 4th liners from the waiver wire to be productive, gone for late round picks that will take years to develop. Yes, we got younger, but we also added another 5 years to getting players who can play any minutes at all.

Neither Brown or McEwen are good players. They didn't develop into 4th liners from the waiver wire. They were 4th liners who were waived. Neither is a player that should be on this team.

“We need to get top talent” so laughable that the question even is Jvr traded? Or these other scrubs. The only way to get that talent is through the draft. The only way to add lottery tickets is trade the players worthy of those lottery tickets. Yet they don’t. Even if one is delusional they had to see it before last season. Ok by deadline last year trade g it’s gotta be appearant? Nope. Just waste another year. And this deadline passes. And surely the off season will come to pass. And so on. This team will never learn. Like an earlier posted stated. Just move the team. Who gives a (frank) anymore.

It’s just the constant failure ….after a while you just want something to get behind. When he was hired I figured…what the hell let’s see what he can do…4 years later I’ve seen enough.

I know too many people are going the simple route to explain this mess, but there's too much that doesn't add up.

Wasn't JvR a scratch ("maintenance day") prior to the deadline? Why would a player get scratched if no teams were interested or no offers were discussed? I mean JvR himself said he wanted to play.

When we woke up this morning (if we are all being honest) we all only had three wishes:
1) Please trade for Lemieux!
2) Please keep JVR for the last 21 games and keep some young prospect from playing!
3) Please find an extra 5th and 6th round pick because that’s where a real rebuilding team finds high end talent!

He might want out of TO. It depends on how they do in the next couple of years. He’ll be able to pick his new destination if he wants to….the question at the time will be is why the Flyers? A guy like him will want to go where he can get paid and win.
