No. As much as it sucks to get nothing for JVR, at least him & his $7M AAV are completely done after this season. Pretty sure Greenway still has some term left.

Braun is 36 and has not been a regular player for the Flyers. Do you honestly think it's reasonable to suggest that Fletcher played hard ball and didn't take an offer? That he wouldn't do right by Braun by moving him to a playoff team in the twilight of his career?

He might want out of TO. It depends on how they do in the next couple of years. He’ll be able to pick his new destination if he wants to….the question at the time will be is why the Flyers? A guy like him will want to go where he can get paid and win.

Very much like the Ghost situation, which Bill broke down earlier. Anyone could of had him and the possibility of eating salary to work out a deal could of happened too. Instead they give up a 2nd and 7th with Ghost for nothing.

Ghost just got traded for a 3rd. Same player. People can talk about his stat line in Arizona, but Ghost as a player hasn't changed one bit.

The answer is simple...when you play for the Flyers you are worthless. Only when the player goes to another team do they become something.

TO is a great franchise. I think he’d be nuts to leave….but who knows how he feels about TO being a kid from Arizona.

I’m just gonna throw this out there. What do leaf’s do with Matthews? Yeah I know you “have to sign him” but IF they do what pieces move? Would have to be a lot. It looks like Toronto is all in for remainder of his contract. Could he walk after?

Matthews and Marner won't go anywhere. You don't let those kinds of guys go. And they're both deeply entrenched in the local area.

The thing is... there will always be an abundance of vets who will sign in Toronto for cheap, like Jumbo, Simmer, Giordano, Spezza, etc. JT will probably resign for peanuts when his deal is over. They can just keep doing that forever to offset their higher salaries. In addition to any kids like Knies and Robertson who will be contributors on ELCs.

Nylander probably will eventually price himself out of town, tho.

Dubas finally had to push all in and good on him. I think ROR might be someone they bring back. I like what he did.

of all the players we kept at the TDL i'm glad we will have Deslauriers so I can watch him punch people in the face for the next 20 or so games + years

Flyers with currently only 11 forwards and 2 of those are Lemieux and Bellows.

So basically every team said no to JvR up until 1:40pm today where it was a conditional trade.

So Flyer fans believe "Our players have no interest from others", yet the last 3 days we've seen players of little value moved over and over.

I take that as "Sorry Chuck we have no interest in dealing with you".

Looks like my tinfoil hat conspiracy theory wasn't so off.

THis trade deadline was rough on the Flyers analytics department. With some older players moved. They now have to update their age distribution chart.
