Listen, you dont have to try to make yourself feel better because the lowly Sens beat you with your new LW in the lineup |

Sens could possibly win a round if they trade for a couple solid players today - they're far from awful... - 21peter
Sens are pulling a Leafs from the 2000's, getting high on their own farts, going on a run to ruin their draft capital while playing all backups with house money. |

Has a substance abuse issue and was sent to the minors with a huge contract. What else was he worth? |

And their deadline acquisitions seem like really good pickups.
The only hope I think any team has is that they finally hit a bit of a slump. They have been playing at such a high level for so long, it seems like it must be due. - Aetherial

Unless they trade for Demko - mr.sir
Demko may be a good goalie and he may regain his form, but I highly doubt this year's Demko isn't taking anyone to any promised land. You don't forget how to goalie, but sometimes physical ailments restrict your movement - you retrain your body and brain to try and do it and become less efficient - and then have to retrain it a bit. No different than a pitcher's motion or a batter's swing in those ways. Or it's in your head. You doubt yourself.
The example for me is _always_ Felix Potvin. He was great and he knew it. Until he believed he wasn't and it showed.
95-96 he had a .910 save percentage (league avg was .898) and a 2.87 GAA - Hasek was 2.83 for context.
96-97 he had a .908 save percentage (league avg was .905) and a 3.15 GAA - this was objectively worse - but close to his eventual replacement, Joseph (.907 / 2.93).
97-98 he had a .906 save percentage (league avg was .905) and a 2.73 GAA
98-99 after the acquired Joseph and kicked the Cat, he had an .866 save percentage and a 3.82 GAA with us - we moved him to the Islanders for Bryan Berard and he wasn't much better at .893 and 3.66 GAA.
So when people talk about Demko - to me it's an investment in the future - not the present because I'd have no faith in him this year whatsoever.

The only positive from an Ottawa perspetive is that they dont own their own first this year after the Chychrun trade. So they have nothing to lose going on a run, and just missing the playoffs.
