Leafs have the 6th best GAA at 2.52, 8th best Sv% at .909. In addition Saros hasn't done jack in the playoffs - he hasn't won a single series.

If the only way people will be happy is if the Leafs have the absolute leagues best forwards and scoring the leagues best D AND the leagues best Goalies then they will never be happy because no team has all of that.

BTW Tampa is 20th in GAA and 11th in Save % and yes everyone can clamour about how 'money' Vasi is in game 7, but Saros is not Vasi.

I'm fine rolling with what we have right now between the pipes, especially if Murray comes back and is healthy and plays like he did early in the season.

I like Saros in part because its a longer term solution as well. Let Samsonov go in the off season and run Saros/Woll.

As for this year, as I've said, run with these 3. Murray has played well when healthy.

He’s having issues with the puck. He’s been bobbling it a ton. Even on marners goal last night there was a play 2 seconds before that he couldn’t cradle the puck and shoot it. Instead he bobbles it and loses it. Not sure what the reasoning is but he tends to be doing it more than normal this year.

The Leafs have been burned by bad goaltending. Remember that bad goaltending isnt just SV%, but the timeliness of letting in bad goals...Campbell has done this, Andersen before him.

Samsonov is better due to the team in front of him, even though he has been good. He had a 912 SV% in the last playoffs and won, 1 game. Saros in his last playoffs had a 921 SV% and won 2 games.

The difference is Saros is a vezina calibre goalie, and Samsonov isnt.

Both our starters have health and reliability issues, yes theyve played well for the most part when theyve been in. But do you trust murray to take over the net if needed? I dont.
That being said, i dont believe dubas should waste more assets to trade for a goalie unless murray is part of the trade. There is simply no goalie the leafs could trade for that would tilt goaltending in the leafs favour over tampa.
And vasi was meh for 6 games last year but turned it on when he had to.
