So Keefe is coming back with exactly the same line-up that got crunched last night?
Michael Bunting -- Auston Matthews -- Mitchell Marner
John Tavares -- Ryan O'Reilly -- William Nylander
Alexander Kerfoot -- David Kampf -- Calle Jarnkrok
Zach Aston-Reese -- Noel Acciari -- Sam Lafferty
Morgan Rielly -- Justin Holl
Jake McCabe -- TJ Brodie
Mark Giordano -- Timothy Liljegren
Joseph Woll
Ilya Samsonov
. . .I wouldn't mind seeing Lafferty on the 3rd instead of Kerfoot to give that line some moxy, and keep Kerfoot on the 4th to skate the puck up. There's enough strength on the 4th without Lafferty that you might lose some of what he brings there.
Holl & Rielly . . . God. Maybe Dubas has to trade Holl to stop Keefe from Keefing.
We've had 7 D-pairs with over 150 minutes. Most are relatively successful:
I kinda like this idea. It puts it on the players in my opinion. That they have to sort some things out on their own.
Plus it gives the team a little time to gel and Keefe gets a better idea of what's starting to fit and what's not so noone can say he didn't give it enough time.

I just find it really funny that we traded for a defenceman who is 20th in the league in points, and there isn't a single guy out there talking about how he can help us.

I want to see Gustafsson.
I have no idea what this dude is about.

How about them eh? top 6 teams in the league are in the East.
Top 6 are in the east then the next 8 are West then the final 6 of the top 20 are East again. Kind of interesting it's book ended like that. - Aaron_85

My boldest prediction:
The Western team will win the Stanley Cup this year, because the team emerging from the East will have nothing left in the tank.

Leafs first round will be a clean sweep
Second round will be tougher if it's boston so like 6 games
Leafs will finish the metro in 5
Finals will be 6 most likely so not a bad war I think

Yes, the year to have gone on in with moving out so many picks was that same year.
Oh and JT wasnt injured at the deadline.
But as i said i cant remember if there were trade restrictions
If the leafs had met tampa in the finals, it would have been a great win for the organization even if the leafs had lost - Fakepartofme
Ya man I agree. The JT injury that took place in first round has absolutely no barring on why better moves weren’t mad at deadline a month it so earlier.
Either way though - can’t cry over spilled milk right! It’s good moves are made now ha

I hope you are onto something.
Also did you hear Hayes in response to Corrado and AB’s unrealistic trade ideas?

Similarly, I don't much about his game. I recall him playing a good game against us - offensively.
My read on him from different sources is that he's sort of like a lucky Tyson Barrie. He's not good defensively, and while he's not as good offensively, pucks are finding their way into the net for him this year.
That said, he's 13th in 5v5 points among defensemen. When you take a closer look at some of his analytics he's a top-30 guy in terms of generating both primary and secondary assists, and rates in the top-20 in terms of generating individual HD chances.
He doesn't hit, doesn't block shots, and has twice as many giveaways as takeaways - so I think if you insulate him, he could offer you some more offense from the blueline without too much risk.
Playing top-4 minutes on a team that's -6 at 5v5, he's +12 - so he's worth a look.

I think Dubas made his moves - he might move out a defenseman for a depth forward or futures, but I think this lot is what we're going with. I think he wanted to get the moves out of the way largely so they could be on the road trip together and start to gel.
What do I know, though? I didn't think he'd pursue ROR, Acciari or Schenn - and definitely not Gustafsson. I did think both Lafferty and McCabe were options he'd look at. - Monkeypunk

I was hoping that Nashville and the Islanders would do a trade today - send someone from the Isle to Nashville, because the Islanders have played 64 games, and the Preds have only played 58, so a guy could play 88 games this season.

I think the playoffs in the east are going to come down to pre-game hype.
Whoevers working the playoff pre-game music has to have their poop together. No (frank)ing around. I want AC/DC, Kiss, GnR, Metallica, Queen ...all the big ones. No (frank)ing excuses.
I grew up in a hockey town in southern Ontario so there's no question in my mind that RoR of Clinton Ontario should be bringing the pre-game hype.
