Time to evaluate the kids and test them in all situations to see what we've got.
Showcasing veterans is no longer necessary ... test the kids on the PP instead of the guys we're trying to get rid of.

Yep. I’d be sitting Drouin, Hoffman et al. And just play the kids and try to get ahead of the rebuild and development. More reps for the kids, and sit the lazy (frank)s that bring the team down.

In a way, all those injuries are a blessing, get to evaluate the kids, let them play more and in roles / minutes they likely would not get otherwise.

I think that you can trade an injuried player but the other team must know about it. I guess thats how you could otherwise break a rule.
