It's not like Dahlin is a shrinking violet either. He's a tough SOB that doesn't take sh¡t from anyone.
That's the gameplan in the NHL, beat the sh¡t out of the star players. - Wetbandit1
Getting hit is one thing. He's gotta deal with that. Hate some of the after the whistle crap.

The refs don't even call penalties half the time either. |

We may have to start paying attention to Andrew peters as he drops hints.
He dropped hints about greenway a few weeks ago. |

“With tonight's first-period goal Jiri Kulich has compiled 17 points in his last 14 games.
Additionally, Kulich has totaled 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points in 43 games in his rookie season with @AmerksHockey”
What he’s doing at 18 is ridiculous.
Like we might be talking about a future star in the NHL, never mind just an NHL body |

I actually like the moves, think we overpaid some but we got something this team is sorely lacking!! Grit and a bit of toughness. Can't say that I didn't want more but It is what it is.
Only thing I don't understand is not weaponizing are Cap. I really don't care if I helped East teams, if you are building through the draft, could have gotten a few picks retaining. If I don't do it someone else will(Arizona) might as well benefit from the trade to, not like I am gonna stop it by saying No. - Buff36
Agreed.
"Our" Cap not "are" Cap. Do you do this and the there vs. their crap purposely to be a jerk? So dang annoying. You don't seem that stupid as a general matter in your comments. Actually, you make a good many good Sabres related comments. At least your hockey IQ is above a third grader's even if your grammar isn't. You have to be playing. Please stop. |

C-
Was an F prior to greenway.
Still didn’t address two of the most glaring weaknesses on this team and there were players moved that would have done so.
But whatever.
When does Greenway play.
I assume not tomorrow. - ImThatGuy
Seems right. |

Seems right. - sabrebuzz
There wasn’t a goalie that was moved that was the answer to our problems.
Apart from Chychrun, no other deals for d-men were ones that I were mad about. Jensen and Fabbro both resigned and they weren’t dealing for a rental.
Greenway fits the player with term they were looking for and we got him for the last of the three seconds in this years draft which to me is good value.
Then getting a 3rd round pick for Portillo was great work. |
|
|
|
Portillo didn't see a path to the NHL in Buffalo
What a clown, looking at our roster his biggest hurdle is Levi... - Stripes77
Agreed. Probably Adams best move to get a third out of a black hole.

Think of analytics like a statement of financial position. They are snapshots of a period of time.
A company may have strong sales one quarter, not so strong sales the next.
Asplund had elite defensive metrics last year, he took a step back this year.
Despite his regression this year, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t good defensively last year.
It’s really not that hard to understand, especially for an individual that holds himself as high a regard as you do. - Swedish_Jesus

He has 79 hits in 13:09 in ice time this year with 45 GP. That puts him 3rd behind Dahlin (82) and Samuelsson (80). Last year he had 155 hits.
I know many people don't care about hits and claim it means you don't have the puck, but the Sabres needed this guy: big bruising defensive forward.
He is not Girgensons or Okposo or Larsson or Asplund - Hank Balling
He has had 7 fights in 5 years (6 seasons, 1 of 6 games, so call it 5).
He's solid defensively, hits for sure, metrics look reasonable for his style and therefore duty/assignment. Tough to play against which is great, yet shouldn't be confused with a brawler.
Play him with Stillman on D, and Krebs on his line. Go get another poop-stirer who can play and have fun watching.

A 7th rounder. That might even be worse than future considerations. - lacaprup
He traded him to give him a chance to play. Dislike a lot of what Adams did (or more accurately, what he didn't do), however, I think he scores points with players, including potential lower line FAs, when he does things like this to basically watch out for a player who obviously no longer fits into their plans regardless of what it cost the team to get him. That goodwill is more valuable than the draft pick he picked up, which is still better than nothing; and saves unneeded salary expenditures.
Even more goodwill points were probably generated from the Bjork trade (hand-off) it would seem. |

Greenway-Krebs-Olofsson would be my move. Two defensive-minded poop stirrers and a goal scorer - Hank Balling
Thought he would fit with Cozens and develop at least one strong defensive line with a scoring punch. Beckons to the day of Luce, Ramsay, Gare line, though I don't know who Gare would be.

Daily Faceoff penciled in Mitts-Cozens-Greenway. I like that. - Lunaion
I guess Mitts is the Gare component. I like it too.

Yea let’s not talk about all the other weird poop Florida did
Florida had a lot of moving pieces.
Sam Reinhart didn’t sink them as you insinuate here.
Why can’t people understand that the ones asking for a trade? We’re specifically asking for a this year and beyond type move? - ImThatGuy
Yup. That is correct.
Though in my opinion the moves made are better than nothing, there were a lot available moves that did not come to fruition or that were ignored in the name of development over trying to make a legitimate shot at this year's playoffs. Which drives the grade down for Adams. And the only reason I gave it a C- was because the Coach pushed hard for this player who he has previously worked with. After seeing what Granato has done with several players left for dead, it gives the last trade some upside to at least hope for. I don't think it creates enough to hope for the playoffs this year but maybe long term. After all, a trade should not only be measured by what happens with it in the short term, I think.

You don't think they bring Okposo back for at least one more? - Powerslave
Honestly no.
Greenway most likely replaces okposo or girgensons. IMO.
79%-21% okposo retires .
As Hank says, death, taxes and girgensons... we'll see |

Just based on the amerks social media. It seems like the 2nd half of the year he’s been great |

He had no choice where he was going - didn’t have a no trade. If ARI traded him to a place that’s makes him happy and took less in doing so, they’re more idiotic than I even think they are |
