Right, and the analytics this year back up the reason why he was dealt for a 7th.
Good in transition but the defensive metrics fell off a cliff and the offence was never there.
Last year he was a strong bottom 6 forward, this year he produced as a fringe NHL player. - Swedish_Jesus
He outproduced our 4th liners, but they have tenure. Sometimes you're the odd man out for all the wrong reasons.

I'm just taking my victory lap here. I'm a 3 decade + Sabre fan: this is the only victory I'm getting. Somewhere around year 25 of being a fan the realization that you're a fan of the worst of the worst really, really sets in.
We are the Detroit Lions, the Knicks, the Jets, the Leafs, the Chicago Bears less 85, the Cleveland Browns and Indians. |

Find me an “insider” that didn’t report Adams in on both Chychrun and Meier.
He didn’t pay the price, and like every other big in season deal, we will see if it pays off for Ottawa and New Jersey.
Moving a first round pick for someone who possibly wont be on your team in a cup window is a risk he wasn’t willing to take - Swedish_Jesus
Are Chychrun and Meier not going to be on the teams that traded for them next year.
You yourself said next year is the year.
So would they not be on a team trying to go for it then? |

The Greenway deal is a nice balance. Gives something to the people who were desperate for them to do something (me) while still retaining his prime assets. The player is a good fit.
I would have loved ekholm or chicken man but that was always a pipe dream.
They do need to figure out a defenseman this summer though - Hank Balling
Defense and goal. I am fine with Upl or Comrie as backup but they need a starter |

And last year he said this year was the year. The goalposts will move again, have no fear. |

I disagree about the Knicks though. They've been a joke for decades. Though they have a team right now. Madison Square Garden is the real asset there. The Knicks have been just terrible. |

Oh wow, that was the Eichel pick they used:
Eichel, 5th
For
Krebs
Tuch
Ostlund
Greenway
You take that deal every day of the week |

Yes. I like the Greenway deal. We’ve been in desperate need of some size, grit on bottom 6. The hammer that will answer the dirty hits on Dahlin for at least a couple years |

Because he's afraid of his own shadow. Can't get fired for missing expectations if there are never any expectations because it's always a goddamn 'development year'. - Wetbandit1
Would you rather have one more year of Sam Reinhart or Jiri Kulich and Devon Levi for the next several years ?
How’s that win now trade working out for Florida ?
They are already talking about moving Reinhart, maybe Buffalo brings him back for a second in the offseason.
The irony |

Playing him on the right definitely helps with Tuch out |

They didn’t make the playoffs this year either, but does that mean their future isn’t bright ?
You are right, we are the Detroit Lions |
