The result of the game is irrelevant. Watching the kids gain experience and grow is what we should all be hoping for. The prospects in the system right now far outweigh anything I've seen since our last cup. That's quite a while. I'm blown away by what steady management can accomplish. To piss everyone off I'm going to say I'm down to resigning Drouin. He's talented and drives play when he's right. Yes I said drives play. Deal with it. Don't let him walk. Period

this has crossed my mind a few times...

technically I wouldn't mind that much if MTL actually kept him on a very cheap deal but I'm just so fed up hearing people whine about his case that I'd really prefer if the habs moved on. besides, it would probably be best for Drouin as well.

There's nothing to gain by keeping him, even at a cheap price.

He's not part of the future and we're not making the playoffs anytime soon so I'd rather give the icetime (and roster spot) to a rookie (our future).

Drouin is just a distraction at this point, time to take the Band-Aid off and move on.

trading for Quick was a curious move, at 37 he obviously isn't the goalie he used to be and wasn't particularly having a very good season, I guess vegas wanted to take a gamble on him in the hopes that he somehow finds the same kind of mojo he had during his younger years...

not really, goaltending currently isn't a strength for them, Lehner has been on LTIR for quite some time (and wasn't very consistent anyways), so their duo right now is Quick and Adin Hill.

is that the leafs' mantra? they should opt for something more positive, that's kind of depressing.
