He was wearing Lafferty's number, which was disappointing because I thought for sure it was headed for the rafters. - Dieselhead
Maybe someday with Doug Wilson's name on it. |

KD has been active throughout, i think he learned last year sometimes the best deal is the one in front of you. - BetweenTheDots
You still post there was a deal on the table for Strome and Kubalik. I ask again what was it? |

Some good press out there for KD post deadline. He had built up some nice draft capital now and in future years. Good planning to look ahead and possibly use those picks to help fill in some needs via trade. |

Yo LA, how did Korpisalo look in the win last night?........ Kings have the 3rd best win percentage in the West. |

He looked fine. Only faced 26 shots, Gabrikov looked real good paired with Roy. |

In a yr he's amassed a bunch of draft picks, tons of cap space and added to the prospect pipeline with it now ranking around #5.
All needed for a proper rebuild and provides a lot of flexibility. .. A few steps taken in a journey of 1,000 miles but one has to like the plan, approach and execution so far.

Korpi can get hot. Remember when CLB upset TB a few yrs ago he was lights out. Hate to see teams sunk by poor goaltending and at least Korpi gives them a goalie who won't lose games. Fair to expect he'll do better in LA than CLB.
Hopefully the West gives the fan a few good playoff series. Wouldn't shock me to see DAL come out of the West. |

I would like to see anyone with a different view than mine (below) regarding the Western Conference. I’m not into diving too deep into statistical evaluation, coaching strategy or see enough games to have a really uncompromising viewpoint
So as for the Westrrn Conference;
Minnesota picked up a good piece in Klingberg.that
However even adding Johansson again and a derp forward group still could really use one really very good center. Don’t know if Rossi might step up later (another season) but the Wild just will not be able to beat either Dallas or Colorado. in fact, I think I go with Vegas too over Minny
True Minnesota is deeper and best they have been on paper NOW. I just don’t think their defense can stop other teams enough in crucial moments. And I don’t think Fliery rises to the occasion
- he might play well but he won’t stand on his head and take even their first playoff match
Dallas is the biggest threat because their defense and especially Ottinger can be the difference. Colorado has to be the favorite and the upstart new kids trying to ride up are LA and maybe Edm with Ekholm now. Still Edmonton has a couple weak dmen and the goaltender is meh
While LA could push anyone to 7 games, they loose out. Vegas is a dark horse but I don’t like them to advsnce far. |

Am i reading this right?
5 mins to go in the 2nd, Carolina outshooting Tampa Bay 20 to 4 and 8 to 0 in 2nd period???
Tampa collapsing down the stretch, improving the Hawks pick? |

Yup, both Hedman and Kucherov got hurt during the game also.
Hagel had a short handed breakaway off the post. |

Wow it was right.
Zero SOG in the 2nd, and only 4 thru 2 periods for Tampa.
I'm not sure in the Hawks worst games this year they 've even been close to that bad. |

2 or 3 days too late. Being Tampa, would've expected them to get hurt last Sunday and them then trading for a couple guys.
Though I guess after the Hagel and Jeannot trades, they don't have much to trade. |

There's a lot of miles on those guys, just looking at the past Staley Cup teams, 4th year seems to be the hardest

Sorry bud, that’s not how this thing works. You don’t get to posit that there was a deal out there that wasn’t taken when there is zero evidence available, and then say that anyone who says otherwise is making a faith based claim. It is pure fallacy to do so and nowhere near logically sound. |

Any players we got back that can even remotely be projected as having a role on a playoff team?

KD said he wasn’t actively shopping AA and didn’t receive any serious offers. Even if KD could have traded AA the return would have been minimal, something around a 5th round pick (similar to the return for Namestnikov). The Hawks might as well keep AA for a return like that. - DarthKane
I am ok with that. But I would not pay AA $3 mil next year and I would not shed any tears if another team did.

A roster at $48 million playing tonight actually look good. - BetweenTheDots It looked better than a $70+ million roster coached by Colliton.

You are going to have to overpay 4 to 5 players to get to the cap floor. That’s if you can find enough UFA’s that will want to come/nobody else wants.Domi is one. Who else?

Okposo
