Good to see McCabe playing sound defensively, throwing some hits and moving the puck well. Arguably our best defenseman the last 2 games, maybe Brodie - jribout
Yeah he's stood out. |

So strange … 3 insanely different efforts …
Oil game - out to lunch -
Flames - as good as they could be -
Tonight … hit and miss… 2 shorties against …
Team is just so schizophrenic…

I can respond to anyone.
You can tell me not to antagonize but I will absolutely respond to anyone as I see fit.
Thanks. - Santo_44
Sure. I can't physically stop you but if you break the CoC, which you've done multiple times tonight, you'll not be able to respond to anyone.
Same warning to the others.

Maybe hard, playoff style hockey isn't for The Leafs after all?
I mean, the Canucks looked like world beaters tonight.
There should be no scenario of losing to the Canucks tonight. None.
A total joke of a game.
I hope ROR isn't hurt too bad. |

I'm hoping the team recognizes this and drops in the line up. I hope he turns it around next season back to his usual self but right now, who cares where he plays? Just put the best guys in the best position to succeed. Contracts be damned.

The Western swing is always rough, lots of emotion from the home teams as they circle this game on the calendar. Leafs aren't always able to match that emotion and end up looking really brutal when they can't, they rarely win in Vancouver and it's always a weird one. - 13sundin13
That's exactly what vancouver fans are saying. It's the best game of the year.
Also strange how the leafs are like 2 - 16 in the last 18 games in Vancouver. Dang that's bad.

Leafs only play good against good teams.

Let's check in again on these two teams' records against the Top 24 teams in the NHL this season:
TOR: 31-11-4 .717
TB: 23-20-3 .533

The good news is that pathetic franchises, like the Canucks, don't make the playoffs. |

Alright calm down
I'm as annoyed as anyone but the Canucks aren't world beaters. They matched up well and played hard, I'll give them credit. But the Leafs (frank)ed themselves by butchering their powerplays by being consistently caught flat footed against odd man rushes. They had a few bad stretches, and also dominated for stretches, But Vancouver did a good job blocking shots and weathering their storms. |

I mean if that were true does that not just show the lack of integrity the refs have? Which is the complaint by fans everywhere? That refs don't make calls for whatever dumb reason?

I agree with this but also can't help but notice that's a couple underwhelming teams defensively that have stymied the leafs offence in a row (Edmonton being the other).
Feel like the offence loses a lot of its lethal ability every time Marner is forced back with Matthews. It doesn't work, and then further lineup changes happen to try and accommodate them being forced together, that doesn't work either. Eventually he gives up, puts willie back in the spot, and the offence finds their groove again until the next time this record is played.
So ultimately, If I'm faulting anyone here it's coach. 🤷 |

Matthews and Marner are both superstars who makes north of 10M a year. So does Tavares. I don't care if they're on the 4th line with Kerfoot and Accairi, they should be expected to produce. They have an issue right now pushing offense, and it absolutely is a problem. But I can't blame the coach.
I actually think Marner is the best of the 3 lately. Matthews hasn't done much with either Mitch or Willy. Can't blame Keefe when the superstars don't cash in (or backcheck on powerplays) |

They produce better apart and have since Montreal got in their heads in the playoffs. I can blame the coach for forcing them together despite this. Why muck up the entire lineup to get 10 million dollar players together when they're already producing apart? Stop trying to fix problems that don't exist... |
