Busygin the defender I checked dozen games, he played anywhere from 11-16 minutes a night.
Mingachyov was playing 8 minutes a night pretty steady, not bad to score 19 points playing 8 minutes a night though.
Just shows how much Podz was shafted because they knew he wasn't sticking around. - manvanfan

Now, don't take this as me defending the kid, but when Van fans think the player is walking, they act like we are losing a kid who will be a 1st line PPG player/guaranteed top pairing dman. How dare they not sign him!
Now that he is signed, he's w/e, just another prospect who won't turn out. - Retinalz
Ya, always fun reading the hysteria about signing/not signing players.
Hopefully this kid turns out. |

I'm interested in Don's take on his signing.

You should see the newest Canucks star on this up coming road trip. |

Signing kids from the CHL as 20 year olds. Why not also sign guys that are performing in a much better league at the same age. They are free. - manvanfan
Are those guys free to sign then? It was uncertain. |

My post did say that the defender needed to pass through this draft and was a free agent if he did and the other is already a free agent. Capfriendly says both have contracts that end 22/23. Usually pretty accurate.
It was all in the first post |

From what I seen yesterday in Abbottsford I would rely on Canucks hitting the UFA pool more than the prospect pool for the next two years.
Silovs is definitely an NHL player without doubt.
You can see why other teams want Hoglander and Rathbone but they come with issues.
Woo is a RH Briesbois and is more physical. He is close.
After that there really isn't much at all.
Raty is like the 3C on Abby. Karlsson 2C and some guy named Rau did most of the heavy work at C.
There was good and bad. One of the things I noticed through the year is the teams ability to close and their slow starts. Yesterday that was in full display. Blew the lead with 10 seconds left on weak coverage by Rathbone along the boards. |

It seems a few bloggers are MIA, is it they aren’t getting paid? Our blogger showed up for a week. Will this thread go as long as Carols last one? |

Are you suggesting not to buy the year membership but go for the month to month one instead?

Just stick to the non-Season Ticket and invest in a good ad-blocker. The ads on the blogs and forums are beyond annoying. |

Karlsson 2C . - VANTEL
Linus Karlsson has played right wing in Abby all season and in his rookie SHL season. He takes an occasional face off but does not play center.
To be fair to Vantel, he spent most of his time in the alcohol line-up and missed most of the actual game. |

He was center yesterday, maybe because of the callups to the Canucks.

For 2 years Donna has been telling us he isn't going to sign. - manvanfan
I simply repeated what Canucks media said you muppet. One time. I don’t care about this player enough to discuss for two years. This is a completely meaningless signing. Another slow winger. Yeah |

This is draft and develop. Tried to explain over the years that it doesn't go from 1 player to 5 players per draft. Goes from 1 to 2. If you are real good, 3 once in a while.
Drafting is getting better. I've seen in recent studies of newer draft classes over a decade from 08-17. League average for the "regular" 200+ players is now up to 26%.
Earlier in the 2000s decade studies, it used to be around 40 players to play 200+ games per draft but with more teams and analytics, it's raised to around 55 players per draft. Obviously dependant on the strength of the draft. - manvanfan
The salary cap has had the biggest effect. ELC’s have become big & older vets less. It’s math not studies. Mostly about dollars & sense. |

Even mentioning Van in the same context is laughable. Arizona is an outright joke in every way possible. No team has sucked money like the whore they are nor made the case for a relegation league that they represent. |

What centers were called up? Does not bode well for Karlsson to make it as a center if he’s not being used in Abby as one.
I agree with your earlier post. Seems they’ll have to clear cap and UFA solve the center issue along with the D. This looks like OEL buyout time along with a few cap dump trades. |

Interesting Thought: You don’t see a lot of 7th rounders sign, especially 2 on one team in a week’s span. |
