I am surprised that Vantel could at least distinguish a forward from a defenseman.

Overall game. Size and speed. Willingness to hit the areas he needs to make things happen. Heidt seems like more of a passenger. Both benefit from PP time with Wheatcroft. But Ziemmer was much better at evens and being a presence on the ice.

It’s a puzzling trade for both sides. I have some hope as Stevie Y is clearly a brutal GM so hopefully he (frank)ed up again. They have been rebuilding for 8 years, have less core pieces than us and are starting over

Every time I see highlights or a shift by shift, it's a lot of Wheatcroft trying to dangle the entire team but he does engaged defensively, especially compared to his line mates. Just doesn't have the skill of Ziemmer and Heidt.

Wheatcroft is a "try guy" I like to call them. Try really hard, active all over the ice but with not a lot of results. (He does has points this season) My first "try" guy ever, will never forget him. Eric Wellwood. Kyle's brother. Played for Windsor when they came for the Mem cup in Brandon. Looked just as good as Hall and Henrique.

I like all of them, tough to pick who’s better than who. Hiedt is quick and uses his hands for quick passes, Ziemmer is more of a north south power forward, wheatcroft does it all, he hasn’t had a full season in the dub till this year probably why he never got drafted.

Pretty fair assessments. As mentioned, based on what I saw I'd rate Ziemmer ahead of Heidt. I'll gladly admit I'm biased toward the power game.

Wheatcroft basically had run of the ice anytime he was on it. Our D backs off and leaves gaping seams. Any team that likes to get up the ice quickly demolishes them. Which is what happened.

Yeah, the sad part is they have no decent younger players. So it's bound to continue next year. Some of the games have turned into glorified scrimmages.

I think he is rebuilding again because his first attempt failed. He didn’t win sh!t with Tampa. Unless you are a big fan of the presidents trophy. Never had the stones to push over the top and is now spinning his wheels in DET
