Usually it's the GM's that manipulate rosters but a good example of a coach that was 'in on it' was the coach of the Leafs when they tanked for Matthews. - LordHumungous
That guy hasn't ever coached again. I dont know if he was in on it other than the leafs hired the worst guy they could find |

His game has developed more in the past 12 games than the past few years combined. |

Dallas looked terrible last night - shocked that they're in first in their division. 1st round exit written all over them. Benn is still a force, I like Hintz, Pavelski should hang them up, Robertson was mostly invisible, Johnston kid looks great, wish we would've signed Hakanpaa instead of Poolman - compare those contracts - yikes, thanks JIM!! Miro is a beast.
Petey, Beau, Kuz absolutely dominated their top line - as they've been doing fairly regularly - EP is just starting to enter his prime - we've only seen the tip of the iceberg IMO.
Vans D looks better, playing tighter, with structure and physical. They are breaking up the cycle easier than under BB. Nice to see Brisebois, Wolanin, Juulson and Burroughs all playing well - considering most see them strictly as AHLers.
Aman (6th round pick - 2020 - looking more like a late 1st, good scouting, basically the pick we traded away for Miller), Interesting to see if Joshua, Dries, PDG, have another gear with more opportunity. They all have term, which is great - I'd like to see Studnicka sent to Mars - he's horrible.
This team doesn't seem to have problems scoring, so a bit of decent D & goaltending goes a long way. |

Early on in his AHL career, he was trying to put up points, I think he's become more of a shutdown D - but might work well when paired with a Hronek. I'd like to see him on the PK more instead of Hughes, he only has 22 games under his belt - I wonder what a full season would look like in comparison to say OEL?? |

True Story. Boston is dropping into reality as well. Should be early exits for both DAL and BOS. |

Yea it's great to see Boston get pummeled by the joke of the league - Hawks.
They're cooling off at a perfect time. Love to see the Bruins, Lightning and Rangers all bow out in the 1st round. |

There are players that play much better with better players. Break out passes are easier when guys are in the right spots or can even make the right plays or reads. Ahl is not the same game play as the NHL.
Brisebois and Myers were the #1 pair last night on the PK or at least played the most. Anybody is better than OEL on the PK though. |

The NHL's draft lottery has been set for May 8 and 7 p.m.
It's a big event with Connor Bedard available to the team that wins the No. 1 spot.
Here ya go VHG. Don't have to wait till late June as you thought. |

With GMs indicating they are expecting cap to only go up $1M, Commissioner Gary Bettman leaves open a window for conversation with NHLPA to possibly raise it higher (1/2)…
It's something I guess. |

2 NCAA signings in the last 25mins:
#LeafsForever signed F Ryan Tverberg to a 3-year, entry-level deal (drafted 213th overall in 2020)
#GoHabsGo signed D Jayden Struble to a 2yr, entry-level contract (drafted 46th overall in 2019)
Both deals start next szn, both guys in AHL now
Good for Vancouver prospect Jackson Dorrington as he will move up the line up for next season. Although not sure how good the team will be next year.
Next season benjamin-poitras draft eligible is supposed to join the team. Van does love their NE players, a right hand center with lots of room to grow would be a good pick up around the 4th round or later.

Cupcake schedule.
Even their games against tougher teams are in very favorable conditions.
Leafs and Stars were both playing 3rd game in 4 nights.
Still have games against the Kings and Kraken where those teams will be playing 3rd game in 4 nights and on a back to back. |

This is a championship contending team that has had really bad luck the last 5 or so years. Like an addicted gambler, Ruthy has a really good feeling about next year... |

10-15 If they keep the pick which is unlikely.
