But we didn’t use our own pick, it came from a pending UFA and it’ll probably be in the #20 range…all good.
Bo Horvat, a pending UFA who wanted 8+ million a year, and a second round pick for Hronek, Beauvillier and Raty…that’s a great trade for the Canucks organization. - DraftandDestroy

Thx carol! I don’t like the pick at all. Boldy was the play. At the end of the day my heart was set on Zegras and I’m frustrated they wouldn’t offer pick 40 to move up and grab their guy. The Canucks were very dejected when zegras was selected. There was zero enthusiasm about Podkolzin. Why not gamble and get your guy?
Either way, I wish Podkolzin the best and i hope I look like an idiot in two years
For the month leading up to the draft Donna was Newhook, Newhook, Newhook everyday. Day of the draft Zegras. |

Considering Seider was Yzerman’s target all along at #6 there was an extremely low probability that the Canucks get into the top five so you’re crying over something that had very little chance of happening. |

What does that even mean? Fans have b!tched and moaned for years about the Canucks letting pending UFA’s walk for nothing and then they trade one for two good players and a decent prospect and now it’s an issue. The Canucks fans are idiots, full stop. Considering the team is not allowed to or chooses not to rebuild it was a good trade. |

He’s a very solid defensive forward, i like the move as long as the cost isnt too high

You keep pretending that I’m pretending the Canucks are building a contender and I’ll keep laughing at you. Im discussing one trade, which given the circumstances, is a good trade for the team. I hope they’re more competitive next year as all this losing is getting tiresome. |

You don't know what "In a vacuum" means? Really.
(of an activity or a problem to be considered) isolated from the context normal to it and in which it can best be understood or assessed.
Does that help? |

Of course I know what it means, it still doesn’t make it a bad trade given the circumstances and the probability of the pick helping them in the immediate future, or at all. It sounds very professional on her part though. |

She never said it was a bad trade. She actually liked both of them. |

Just read that there, hopefully those seeds come to fruition and they're able to clear Miller and use those assets to trade for a younger C.
Interesting Schmaltz is also on there. Seems like he'd be a good right-handed 2C option behind Petey. Just turned 27, 5.8 mil for the next 3 seasons... Canucks love trading with Arizona - NewYorkNuck
Arizona is like those redneck pickers on TV that went around collecting everyone’s junk. Vancouver are the guys who a couple years later, pay big money for said junk. |

I know and it drives so many people nuts.
I was just reading pages of the Miller trade. I was the only one who was somewhat okay with it. Except for Neem who thought Miller was good defensively.
Pretty well near the same reactions to the Hronek trade for most. |

At the draft you were very saddened when Detroit took him though. - manvanfan
Yeah I remember thinking the Canucks could slide down a few spots and still get him. Was shocked to see him go so high.
I also wanted Sergachev really badly in 2016 |

Yzerman is a pure genius. He should be in the HHOF as both a player and a builder…pure genius!! |

There is no doubt that in a vacuum the Hronek trade is pretty good value. I like the player for sure, but man would it have been nice to have 2 first rounders this year. |

I really don't know what she goes on about, I skip over everything.
She's a female Thomas Drance wannabe. |

I’m on record as wanting a full rebuild, have for years, however, as I’ve just said many times over, given the organization isn’t rebuilding and they want to add 25 or younger players to help their young core. I’m fine with the deal.
But yes, two first round picks would’ve been sweet. This is how Arizona and Ottawa are going to quickly build competitive teams. |

They really need to get Miller, OEL & Myers money off the books. Just terrible management by the present and past regime. |

It ended up being a pretty good deal for Van because they picked 20th in a lesser draft. I will think the same thing if NYI picks 16th or higher and Van pick is 42 or higher. If it's 13th and 36. I like it much less.

If they're not able to trade him without paying out the nose I really think an OEL buyout would help a ton. Past July 1st they should be able to move Myers without too much difficulty.
Miller I just don't see any other team taking. |
