that’s a total lie just to make yourself feel better about your dumbass because I don’t follow prospects unless they’re top five, although I will throw out the occasional “he’s big and/or fast so take him”. - LeftCoaster
Is that what you said about Virtanen

Draft picks are a funny thing. Everyone wants them but then when picked it’s like oh that guy. Some work some don’t. Problem is it takes years to have an impact and if wrong sets you back even more.
See same thing above can be said about signings and trades. Everyone wants to fill holes but when they are done it’s like why now?!?
Bottom line just don’t make mistakes and all will be well. Especially piled up ones lol.

Jim Benning’s drafting, and more importantly the Canucks entire amateur scouting department, has turned into a colossal failure now looking back over his tenure. It doesn’t matter how many meaningless games some of his players have churned out, like Lockwood/Gaudette/Hoglander (who I love as a player), what matters is the terrible finishes and landing absolutely nothing from the draft despite prime drafting positions.
The 2016 and 2017 drafts being a prime example, they finished 3rd & 2nd last those years and they managed just one bonafide NHL player from those two drafts. That is complete and utter failure. Other than Pettersson not even a quality depth defencemen was taken.
I’m glad Cammi Granato’s in charge now as she help orchestrate a quality quality team in Seattle and the proof is in their results in only their second year. |

Truth be told, I actually wanted to draft Reinhart that year by trading up to get him, as I’ve always advocated the build through the middle of the ice mantra. Turns out his skating is too suspect and he’s not really a player that would be successful in the middle because of it.
All that said, I never wanted to draft Virtanen, BUT, once they took him I said he’s the type of player the Canucks need as he can skate like the wind and he plays a heavy game. Which he did in junior and at the start of his NHL career. Although he and McCann were clearly brought up too early. I don’t know if Virtanen’s career would’ve turned out differently had he been handled better, as he was his own worst enemy.
At the end of the day I was wrong about both Reinhart and Virtanen because I don’t watch enough junior hockey to get a good gauge on these kids but at least Reinhart has had a successful NHL career. |

They have so much trust in her ability that they just traded two top 40 picks. - VANTEL

Just buggin ya... I don't watch enough either to comment. Just look at stats and draft charts. Virtanen racking up double the goals to assists was a big red flag to me though.... those type of players are not play drivers in the NHL. |

Nucker actually had a really good take on him as he watches a lot more junior hockey than I ever could, or want to. I think he said he didn’t think the game very well but his raw talent overcame that at the junior level. Something like that. Nucker knew, clearly I didn’t. |

I don’t think that has anything to do with her abilities but if it fits your narratives preach on brother. - LeftCoaster
Actually my narrative would have been she was a diversity hiring they took to shut her husband up. Same as Bikini Rachel.
If they had so much trust in this draft expert, then it makes no sense at all to trade two top forty picks. This year's selection was very underwhelming and that is being polite.
Just more stirring the poop by the Hefty one.

Dude, because someone doesn't think a person is good at a job, I don't think you should automatically assume that it is about a person being female, Swedish or old.
Vantel has stated several times, how he doesn't have faith in Rutherford, using his drafting and trying to retool in Pittsburgh, as part of his reasoning.
As for Granato, I don't like her either, not because she is female, as I have clearly been a big supporter of Emilie and I believe I may have been the first on here to state how I would really like to see Jennifer Botterill on the management team.

I don't know if you noticed you are the only one that has brought up gender. I just mentioned two names of people not doing a very good job.
On that note if you are really that desperate to get laid you don't always have to stick up for women, they can do that themselves and really hate when men think they need to rescue them. Just take some of your cash and go to a rub n tug you cheap ass because your fighting their battles does not impress them at all.
