Crazy having so many practically point a game players on a team out of the playoff race. So now them points starting to put up W’s when Canucks need L’s for draft position.
Then again what’s more important fixing the team or trying to get a high pick? Is it all a mirage? Seen this before right? Is there a difference now in the way they play?
My guess is management took their swing this year and it missed. Then they put players they could out for the tank. Now letting their preferred new hire coaches fix the team play.
Draft picks are just a bonus for this management group as that doesn’t factor for a while on their retool plan. The Bedard dream just not possible with so many bad teams. |

He was nothing spectacular in the Canuck's playoff run. Horvat, Petey, Hughes, Markstrom and Demko all stood out more than him. I expected much more from him. - boonerbuck
Makes sense now why you don’t like the moves by this management group. Like others wanted last TDL JTM traded. Then sign Bo to a reasonable AAV.
But it didn’t happen. Bo got us a good trade better then what was out there for JTM it seems. Plus Bo signed for more term and AAV. That could have hurt the Petey negotiations more if Canucks met Bo’s contract ask.
Problem is Canucks are stuck with a lot of fatty pieces right now. Not enough lean and mean ones on players and contracts. Purge is coming this off season. |

“I saw some guy want to trade a Pepsi, so, maybe that next game. Today I'm going to check my fridge and [it is] depending on that [for what] I'm going to choose tomorrow.”
-Andrei Kuzmenko on trading sticks to fans in pregame
Sounds like Kuzmenko having fun this season. |

He played well last night. Pettersson with two more assists, now up to 81 points, kids a star and he’s gonna get paid! 💵 |

Who's gonna win the Players Golf Tourney? I put some money and Morikawa Shef and Cantlay |

Another Benning screw up not giving him the long term contract. Going to cost Canucks a lot. Oh well, I guess they will have Petey locked up for the rest of his prime. |

We’ll need him. It’s going to be a frustrating next 10-15 years with maybe a playoff series once or twice somewhere sprinkled in there.
The Canucks cupboards are bare. So we’re starting at square one basically this year. |

When you look at OEL’s +/- it should have been clear that he was Crappy. Why would you trade for that??? |

Has anyone heard from or seen Benning since he was fired? Just took his money and is living in the Philippines now? |

I don't think he has spoken. He was just ready to leave and never look back
Gillis didn't speak for a long time either. If I remember correctly. |

A loaded contract with a 30 year old defender on his way down. What more tell tale sign does someone need.
I wish more and more that Benning would have kept more draft picks and made less trades. |

We all wish that. His first year had us a bit more hopeful, until he traded that 2nd for Sven.. |

Briding that gap.
If you think about it, if you are trading away all your picks all the time, you are always bridging the gap really.
Two first's in a row wasn't a good idea either. |

He had the highlight of the night goal.
Just brutal other than that. You would rather watch Myers fish the puck out of his own feet.
I don't know if he's slow decision making or just really slow but his entire game seems like he's playing beer leagues.
He did jump on the back of Kaprizov and crush him. Kaprizov left the game injured. |

Ya, he looked slow, couple years back, he looked like he had been working on his skating, but hasn't looked like it recently. |

What would a rebuild have looked like under JB? Keep picks keep drafting. Don’t sign pricy UFA’s.
Who would have been on the team more busts like JV and Joulevi or more hits like Petey and QH? Who would that have been that would have made an impact now? |
