What if the Flyers get lottery lucky and Bedard pulls a Lindros and says “don’t draft me”?
- mikeyo27

I wouldn't blame him(Bedard). This is his livelihood. Playing for the Flyers is the equivalent of spraying lettuce at Walmart on 3rd shift.

Do we REALLY think there is a chance in hell if Bedard got drafted by the Flyers he would refuse to come here?

Really?

Ill bet my house. Anyone willing to put up their house?

Just stop. We are all pissed off at this franchise, but come on. Lets live in reality.

Now if you said Arizona.....

Coates is nothing but a corporate stooge. Anyone who gets a paycheck from this team I don't take a solitary word they utter seriously.

- PLindbergh31

Remember the good ol days when we loved this team and we wore our jerseys with pride?
Now I wouldn't even take free tickets if someone ofdres them to me.
I'd have to spend so much money on alcohol just to enjoy watching this poop show and I'm not giving this franchise a dollar of my money until this gimp, fetching moron is out of office. Dave Scott needs ro go too.
Anything they say is a damn lie. We all know it
Fire everybody. It'd the only way any of us will ever come back and support the inevitable rebuild.
Any words other than rebuild mean nothing and are flat out lies.

Some folks just don't know where to draw the line with their disdain for how this franchise is being run. Seriously, some folks need to take a chill pill.

So I just found out that Kucherov, Point and Stamkos were benched for yesterday's third period in Buffalo. I guess John Cooper is archaic too?

A teenager would know nothing but turmoil and utter embarrassment from the Flyers. I wouldn’t be surprised or blame a generational talent one bit for not wanting to come here.

Really? But he will go play in front of 5000 people in Arizona?

What do you want to bet if he is drafted by Philly he refuses to play for them?

Ill match any bet you want to wager.

The NHL will not let the Flyers win Bedard, so it really doesn't matter.

If the Pens fall out of the playoff race and into the lottery my money is on them getting Bedard. Buttman will guarantee it.

Something to ponder - if the Flyers somehow win the draft lottery, should they keep or look to trade it for for 3 1sts from another team? After all, Lindros was a generational player and the team that got all of their assets in the trade won 2 cups and of coarse the Flyers although fun to watch won none.

They would have to fall pretty far to 22nd to even be eligible. 21st can only pick as high as 2nd. (they are 16TH)

Does that team have a Forsberg level player to trade back?

No?

You keep Bedard.

Bedard is a pipe dream for where the Flyers will probably end up. But even adding a Fantilli or Carlsson to this team with Gauthier coming up, Coots coming back, and the young forwards they do have, Carter and Ersson in net and the decent, not great, defensive group the Flyers have, this can be a good team in a couple of years. Not saying they will be a bonifide cup contender, but a team that can do some damage in the playoffs. It would be a welcome change to what we have had to endure for the past decade.
- jd250

Do you honestly believe that in a couple of years, they can be a team that can do some damage in the playoffs? Seriously?

Yeah, they won't fall that far most likely. Hexy has them right in the mushy middle just like he had the Flyers during his tenure here.

Frost will be off this team by the summer, mark my words. Any team with Frost in their top 6 is NOT a good hockey team. Frost at best can be a 3rd line C, which the Flyers have an abundance of right now. Trots has indicated this pretty clearly recently along with Hayes being gone this summer. Sanheim IMO is not a good defenseman, and really never was, and didn't come close to deserving the contract he got. He should have been traded at this deadline for a 2023 pick. Fletcher as he usually does misread the market and the evaluation of his own players. These are just facts that you refuse to acknowledge because of your dumbfounded allegiance to Hextall.

And speaking of allegiance, I find it humorous that you are so dead set against any of the old Flyers guard being part of the franchise, but somehow Hextall is not included in your wrath ... hmmm .. kind of strange if you think about it. I guess some ex-Flyer players are OK while others are not.

- jd250

I think the best way for me to reply to this is to try and explain to you the difference between a fact and an opinion. On second thought, why bother.

In your world it's a fact that Sanheim sucks and Ristolainen is the best defenseman. Enough said on that.

Do I honestly need to review Flyers history with you to inform you that Hextall is definitely not one of the Flyers old guard.

You also don't seem to understand that my issue is not with ex Flyers players. My issue is with the ex Flyers players who are a part of the organization currently and that's because of how they ran this franchise into the ground.

Not surprising how that distinction escapes you.

Yes, with luck and consistent good moves. Will either happen, very slim. It would ABSOLUTELY have to be the perfect storm.

There is ONLY 1 option the Flyers have to turn things around, I mean only 1 option.

Big money/term contracts have to be cleared (not traded and retained), they would have to do SPECTATULAR in the drafts (get a generational player, find a super gem or two) and not make 1 single bad signing/trade over that time.

That's minimum 4 years before they can START the rebuild. Can they go 4 years without making a bad signing/re-signing...probably not.

Did people know for 100% certainty that Forsberg would have the career he did...of course not. Was he a highly regarded prospect that was known to have extreme talent at the draft...absolutely.
