Ghost is on fire and currently has better stats than TDA who was the missing piece this for the Flyers past offseason. It would be crazy if he ends up with 50 points in the runup to the playoffs. He's looked good on Arizona and looked good on Carolina so far. It's time to consider that maybe the Flyers coaches were the issue.

Regardless Carolina get an A+ for trading TDA to the analytics hating flyers for 3 picks and easily replacing him.

What's more likely is that he excels in the playoffs with the Canes. The Canes will not ask him to do more than he is capable of because they are a properly constructed team.

Although at least Angelo has some physicality to his game. We'll see what the Canes think when Ghost is losing every puck battle in his own zone and leaking chances left and right. Can't see them putting Ghost with Slavin like they did Angelo though.

My point was simply if you add some young top end talent on this current roster, with the goalies they have and players they have in place, this will be at least a playoff team. Gostisbehere is a better player than DeAngelo is. Remember when we had that conversation previously? He is just as good offensively and better defensively. Nice addition by the Canes.

It is very unlikely that the Flyers are a playoff team next year. It is very unlikely that they add any player in the upcoming draft that will immediately upgrade the team.

At least wait until Ghost has a bad game or two before laying into him. The Flyers have their own bad in his own zone offensive defenseman who was -1 against a team that was outscored 3-1.

If you add enough top-end talent any roster will be better but where is this elite talent coming from? I just don't see where the Flyers are getting their Stamkos and Hedman ? Is it from the multiple high draft picks they own? Is there a young first line star that wants to sign with the team at a huge discount since the Flyers are capped out?

The Flyers are in no position to make a proactive move on anything. They currently have 1 pick in the 1st two rounds, BY DESIGN. They are a capped out team, BY DESIGN. The only way they have to improve in the short term is by dumb luck and that isn't a plan.
