He's been OK. Still not all the way back to where he was pre-injury.
My view on Gauthier is that, if he plays wing, he could hold his own (he wouldn't dominate) if he turns pro after one collegiate year. He still has a lot to learn if they are set on him playing center, and I think he needs a sophomore season if that's the case.
I've been doing prospect updates on the Flyers site this season. Did ones recently on Brink and Desnoyers. Next one is about Attard. - bmeltzer
Thank you

Flyers will be pushing him to turn pro asap... people's jobs are on the line. |

Bill thoughts on STHs booing fletcher? Thoughts on coates telling fans to basically sit down and shut up? - corduroy
It was not a surprise. It's also the fans' prerogative to voice their displeasure. That has its limits but booing is not over the line. |

Brent Flahr, on the interview Brian Smith and I did with him a couple weeks ago, hinted that he thinks Gauthier could use another NCAA development year on the details of his game beyond his hands.

Been the story for Frost all season. If his wingers were even finishing at a league-average level, he'd have 40-50 points right now. - Tomahawk
You can apply that logic for dozens of players across the league no?
Yeah so many missed chances can easily add 21 points to his total....Hopefully his agent uses that in his next contract negotiations.

For sure, the kid is not ready. He easily needs another year.
But if a kid is even somewhat close and plays a position of immediate need, this team seems to err on the side of developing them in the NHL: Farabee, Provy, Coots, Sbisa, Patrick, TK, etc.
IIRC how miffed they were that JVR chose to go back for his sophomore year when they needed him right away. |

They absolutely have interest in Byfield in LA. The Kings said he's untouchable. - bmeltzer
any idea what was discussed as going the kings way?
Hart and Ivan package is something I make a call about

leave Cutter where he is at (even at the wing) , as well as Brink. No need to bring up Brink at this stage. Let him ease back into it.

Agreed. Cutter is close but another year won’t hurt. With Brink if he has a good March maybe reward him with a couple of games at the end…as long as it doesn’t effect the phantoms. |

No, not Bill Barber. I believe, Torts is talking about some people who were gone or just about to be gone when he first arrived. - bmeltzer
I took from his comments to really show how toxic the whole front office has been. When you lose every one has an opinion. I didn’t mind Torts coming to Fletchers defence. With Fletcher you don’t fire a guy or blow up because he didn’t trade JVR. To me it’s a long list of missteps. This is just another example of a guy who clearly is struggling in his job. |

I think Desoyners makes the roster and plays in the top.9 next season. |

I think the most important question is what app was Fletcher using for his trades and was it NHL 23. Also, did Ian Anderson provide him with that number of calls he made on deadline day (17)? - TobyFlenderson
I'd like to know was it a flow chart or a spread sheet? I'd also like to know with the trades of Brown and McEwen and the addition of Lemieux. How does that affect the Flyers age distribution chart? |

I only watch because I like hockey and will watch whatever is on. Plus I have a morbid curiosity to see what happens. |

Maybe even top-six with the huge boner that Torts already has for him.

Possible, especially with the Coots situation and lack of centers in UFA. Of course, I want the Flyers to stay out of the free agent market, but a coherent plan on the team going forward is still certainly in question. |

I agree, Gauthier needs another year. He is having a good freshman year but he is not dominating by any stretch. For comparison, Fantilli is dominating the NCAA in his freshman year. Gauthier has not been the same IMO since the WJCs, he needs another year. |

I need a rooting interest to really enjoy it and rooting for them to lose just doesn't interest me. Maybe if they had a really dynamic player...but, who am I going to watch? Cates? He's doing great for a rookie 5th round pick, but not real exciting. Frost? He's not exactly a young Giroux. |

I tend to agree, but Michigan is probably the best team in college hockey. BC is no where near that level. If there is now a true rebuild, it makes even more sense to leave him in college. On a somewhat related note, this upcoming draft should also have long term vision. Assuming Flyers not selecting in top 5, Michkov on the board, the selection should be easy.

Swapped two 26 year-olds, but traded out a 30 year-old. Things will be complicated this week I'd imagine for his staff figuring out the new charts! |

The entire chart needs to be redone. Could take weeks. Plus, I hear Anderson is cutting a new single so that will add to it. |

Jethro Tull set to release a new single on Good Friday. The song is called "ADC - Age Distribution Charts" - word on the street is the song is heavy with numbers and melodic with lines |
